A Shrew Appointment

You might have hit on something there...Though judging by the fact that I've often managed to do 115 mph undetected on the M54 (allegedly, your honour ) I'm not quite sure if there's enough takers looking to whistle from Shrewsbury to Telford tout de suite..

I think this will be a really good fit for him, and, from my experience of having spent much of my early childhood in the town, I think the Salopians will warm quickly to his positivity and openness.

Unhealthy relationship? I don't think that's true, especially given we've had two big conflicts dominating the news for the past year, all the politics programmes at the weekend were focussing on why we need to increase defence spending in the light of the world becoming a more dangerous place, and the Americans have just decided to let themselves down by electing a President who is quite happy, he says, to leave the Europeans to their own devices militarily, which has many of the countries bordering Russia looking nervously over their shoulders.

Lots of people from my workplace observing the 2 minute silence in front of the TV at 11am this morning.

This club has a bipolar tendency like no other club that I'm aware of to oscillate wildly between triumph and complete disaster, and never quite reach either end of the scale.

It may like pretty bleak now, but this is usually the time when an unlikely club hero steps forward, or we get some kind of completely unexpected lucky break.

Just posting this here again as a reminder of what the CEO himself has gone on record as saying: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/christian-nourry-on-being-a-sports-minded-c

I think you hit upon the issue, Clive, when you mentioned all the Assistant Performance Directors, Assistant Assistant Performance Directors and Assistant Assistant Performance Director's Executive Assistant that we appear to have at the club - none of whom appear to be either assisting or performing..

I believe we can all think of a Dumb Barton without having to try too hard...If he's managing his namesake team, then I think we can work out where the most likely pitch side punch-up in this fine tournament is going to occur..

QPR HOME FORM FOR LAST TWO YEARS
at 12:38 5 Nov 2024

Well said, Gazza.

This "Marti out" rhetoric ignorantly forgets that this malaise was even evident in the last half-season under Mark Warburton, yet there was plenty of biblical clothes-tearing and shouts of "You don't know what you're doing" in the direction of the Board when he was let go.

As Clive repeatedly says, if you change the Manager as frequently as we do, and the results don't improve, then logic suggests that the manager is not your problem.

Crystal Meth v Newcastle Brown Ale (..although there's a fair chance of this match being abandoned, due to the players' inability to complete 90 minutes in a fit and competent manner..)

I doubt anyone has an issue with that - its the fact that you spread a whole lot of negativity based on nothing in particular which certainly irritates me consistently, as I suspect it does a number of other posters on here.

At least you've been honest enough today to admit that you don't really know what you're talking about, which is in itself some progress I suppose.

Step forward Mr. Kevin Betsy - this is your time to shine.. You'd hope that our famed Individual Program Player Coach (or whatever his official longwinded title is) will have been working around the club to bring Celar up-to-speed, seeing as the striker role should be Betsy's specialist subject.

Amen!

Just read this though from WLS: https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/cifuentes-says-he-has-full-support-of-qpr-hi

Not a good sign when they start rolling out that particular phrase...

There were a number of posters here over the weekend, Clive, making reference to Marti's ego/stubbornness as a reason for pushing him out of the door.

If he is that much of an egomaniac (which I personally don't see in him), then surely that pride is exactly what we need to be tapping into as a vehicle for turning us around?

As you have (once again) very articulately expressed, the last thing we need right now is knee-jerk reactions. Time for the grown-ups in the room to make their voices heard.

are we heading for down then up....

In a word - yes I do.

There is plenty of talent in that squad - more than enough to get us out of the mire we find ourselves in. What it dors need is a few more people willing to take responsibility, particularly in midfield, as others have said.

Let's not forget this time last year we had Blackburn sticking four past at home in a performance that could easily have yielded twice as many in their favour. That wasn't the case yesterday.

He was Eddie Howe's captain at Bournemouth for years - the same Eddie Howe who, apparently "should" have been England manager by now, so clearly he must have something about him.

I said at the start of this season that he should be captain and should have been last season as well, and I echo themajority of the sentiments in this post that point to his honesty virtually to the point of self-flagellation.

And you're suggesting that your original remarks weren't personal?
Beware the four fingers pointing back at you, when you start pointing fingers yourself.
All I've done is act like a grown-up - I'm sorry that you clearly can't deal with it honestly and maturely.
Anyway, have a good evening yourself..

What - the same Sam Field who has continually thrown himself in front of balls in our box, and made countless last ditch tackles, and for large parts of his time at the club has seemed like the last man standing??

That's a pretty unwarranted cheap shot, don't you think, even for you..

I may not be a better fan than you, but I would respectfully suggest I am a somewhat more emotionally mature one than you, given your childish temper tantrum.
What this is about is being prepared to keep a calm head, face problems head on and being prepared to back the hierarchy to sort out the issues, not throw everyone overboard at the first sign of trouble, as we have continually done at this club for the last decade and a half at least.
I'm glad I don't have to work with half of you miserable c*nts! Imagine if this was your company having operational problems? Presumably you'd be looking to throw the whole management team overboard as well, ignorantly neglecting the fact that they probably appointed you in the first place..
