C'mon Clive - who's your money on walking at Ruben's pleasure - Mr CEO or Marti?

Our biggest problem is how do we unload the players that have come in this summer that clearly are a mile off it? There is some serious £ been spent on absolute garbage plus Marti must have a generous pay-off given he just extended his contract.
It's obvious that it's either the CEO or Marti, but who's going to bust first. It needs the owners to intervene, fire the CEO and just put Sinton in as a CEO cover until the summer.
Without Marti we are truly doomed.

Clive - you have obviously heard something solid on Marti. It’s pretty obvious he doesn’t like what’s happening but why didn’t he walk in the summer when his stock was high?
You can see him going to Coventry where he would be brilliant!
If the club handle this badly it’s not going to get ugly at HQ.

Moving to the USA?
at 16:37 7 Nov 2024

I lived on and off (work related) for many years in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I returned to the U.K. a couple of years ago to retire.
I really enjoyed my time in the US. I had a top job and was very financially successful and independent.
I felt the wind changing politically after Trump tried to storm the Capitol building in the US. Whilst the states I lived in were not prolific gun owners the gun lobby just exploded. There was a polarisation politically, that I hadn’t witnessed before and it was ugly - so time to come home.
It’s an amazing country with brilliant friendly people, but right now they have made a decision with Trump that they will have to own. It’s not going to be pretty and I sense that at some point the blue touch paper will be lit and then they will struggle to control a whole heap of different groups intent on violence. Trump will encourage it.
And don’t get me going on the huge influence the Christian right fruitcakes have on the country - it’s fecking scary!

Unless I am mistaken, Marti is an intelligent individual. From a football perspective, he showed that in abundance after Xmas last season.
He does not strike me as someone who will be dictated to on signings and then sign a new contract himself - it frankly does not add up!
Yes, it's a shitshow, but I cannot see anyway that Marti has his hands on some of these signings. The whole car-crash is bemusing.

Celar - Nothing Again

Does anyone know what the total goals scored is for centre-forwards we have owned in the last 10 seasons up to and including tonight. It must be abysmal given Celar is worse than Dykes and Washington.

It’s obvious that Marti doesn’t fancy some of the new players. Something has gone horribly wrong behind the scenes given his management approach last season.
This club just drifts from on heap of stupid to another huge pile of stupid! We’ve been flirting with relegation for too many seasons and this is beginning to look like the beginning of the end.
Utter shite all round.

Why are we so open? Need to get JCS back and Dunne in at RB asap. It’s a proper mess tonight and that’s on Marti.
Hull didn’t have to work too hard tonight.

It shows what a turgid spectacle the Championship is with Blackburn in 3rd place. Let’s be honest just before the sending off we were all thinking this is ok - we are holding our own.
I’d rather have a slow start and given the new signings that’s to be expected. On today’s showing do you really think Blackburn will be play-off contenders come March/Apr?
There is a long way to go and Marti has a decent track record on improving teams. Whatever happens we will finish above Blackburn at the end of March/Apr.
Somehow I think it will be top 10.

In many ways the establishment all knew about his awful criminal behaviour. I’m no monarchist but they knew Di was stepping into a bad-place once she hitched up with his son.
There are still a lot of people from his staff, the Police and the establishment who have some serious questions to answer.
This story isn’t going away anytime soon.

Pep on the EFL Cup

This is it - the start of football eating itself.
It's been coming for a while and that train is going to pick up speed pretty quickly. It's inevitable that a PL club will eventually opt to play 50% of it's home games in the Far-East - cue Spurs and Levy.
I have no more interest in watching the PL, Champions League etc given it's become elitist and a money-making machine - but not for the fans.
The EFL need to wrestle back control from Sky and bring back 3pm KO's, invite the two big Scotish clubs in and get real football rolling again - for the fans!
Feck VAR. the PL, UEFA and all those greedy bastards masquerading as Chairman. I hope the whole PL show implodes!

Loftus Road renovation/revamp

It’s costing the owners circa £2M a month to keep the club afloat. The cost of maintaining LR must be huge, given its condition. I’m pretty sure the club have had a professional condition survey undertaken to ascertain the cost of keeping that asset just viable. In my opinion the conclusion of that survey would not be good news in terms of future funding just to keep the status quo.
A refurbishment of the existing stadium just isn’t viable given the current footprint and what the club want to develop and achieve.
The site needs to be sold for premium residential development which is now the main development focus around White City.
Our new CEO is a sharp operator-it will be interesting to see what the next steps are. Either way he states quite often that the club must be self-sustaining and remaining at LR doesn’t achieve that goal. It’s as simple as that.

Two games in with a new foreign midfielder recruit, who arrived late into the box to equalise. Also, played the final ball to Paal in the final third, for that wonderful ball to Frey!

What sort of black magic has this Madsen chap bought to our shores?

He’s clearly a very good technician and will need time but for God’s sake give him a fecking break.

Really difficult to see how you improve LR as a facility, that is not losing £M's a year as a piece of real-estate. The on-going maintenance costs must be huge!
From a purely business perspective the only option is to sell the land for re-development (prime residential) and re-invest that in a new ground.
I retired from the corporate RE investment world two years ago and LR is a "lame duck" as a sporting opportunity. I'm sure Ruben knows that.

For a player that played over 160 games for u, I cannot recall him ever tearing up any tress, being consistent or actually proofing that he’s a solid Championship player. If it is a fee of circa £1-1.5M we’ve had their pants down and it’s a job well done.
Never a Championship player and will maybe be ok in L1 - although I doubt it. No loss for us.

Hi Paul -we don’t know each other but I thought I would offer my support and recent cancer experience.
In short, I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer in September 2022. I had no symptoms, so you can imagine the shock! I was a very fit 60yr old, still working, never smoked, but liked a few lagers and a nice glass of wine.
After all the scans etc my diagnosis changed to a more serious position. I had robotic surgery to remove my tumour and after further histology my diagnosis improved. Thankfully, I didn’t need chemotherapy am now in the 5yr surveillance program which is absolutely fantastic.
The treatments available today are incredible and in some cases are curative. My main advice is to trust your medical team and do as your told (not something we are good at later in life). Do not google anything-it’s all out of date and bollocks. If you want to reach to people going through a similar journey-join the MacMillan forum. It’s trusted and has nurses and professionals who can help you. You can learn a lot about your diagnosis.
Stay close to your family if they are nearby - they will be more worried than you. I’m now two years cancer free, retired and enjoying life.
Stay positive, trust your medical team and do not google. Most importantly take care of your mental wellbeing. It’s the most important part of personal recovery.
Best wishes on your journey and keep us posted.
