I felt a strange mix of pride in the Welsh guards and dismay at how all they did came to nought because of weak-kneed Western politicians. Trump and Biden seem even more to blame than our own governments of different colours. It doesn't look to me as though the decision to disengage and leave things to the Taliban will work in the long-term - so the story may not be over. | | | |
