QPR's 'Fan Engagement Plan' on 09:05 - Oct 30 by Northolt_Rs
Engage with us by winning some football matches and not being anchored to the bottom of the division. It’s supposed to be entertainment not permanent misery!
I assume Kim Jung knows that the PR bit in QPR is 'Park Rangers' and not 'public relations'; which he seems particularly focused on.

If QPR were getting good results, would we be on Nourrys case so much. ? I've said it before on here, but I'm not fussed about knowing about all the goings on behind the scenes. It's still really early days and Nourry is just implementing a change in direction that wasn't working before. I dunno, I get where Clive is coming from and he and others have a different relationship with the club to me. Obviously, must be really frustrating when you run a QPR site and the club have decided to shut the door for the time being. For me it's really early days. January window is a big one now as clearly the summer hasn't gone according to plan.

As you say, we all have different relationships with the club, but whatever your view I find 'I'm not fussed about knowing about all the goings on behind the scenes' really sad.
Personally this is the view I have of my internet provider or car insurance not my football club.
The hands off approach is what gave licence to some of the worst people to do terrible things to this club over the last few years.
They should be accountable to someone, why not those with the largest vested interest? ie the fans.

If we keep losing, if we end up in League One, if we end up struggling in League One, perhaps at some point it might peak your interest, but meantime nobody's forcing you to be fussed about what's going on behind the scenes.

Interested to know what form these 'virtual fan engagement' things will look like and who will be involved because you'll recall at the recent forum Nourry said that while it was just him this time, there would be "further events later in the season where you'll get to talk to people on the football side".
This document also seems to very pointedly say the manager won't be appearing at the fans forums any more which is, again, for me, a mistake.
I'm more interested in trying to hold Nourry to account at the Junior Hoops Halloween and Christmas parties. Chasing him round the Blue and White bar dressed up as an enormous bat, demanding to know the length of Clarke-Salter's contract and whether we own Saito or not.

Well ,yes of course, if we end up in L1 next season than my viewpoint on Nourry will change. All I'm saying from my point of view is it seems a bit early to start castigating the guy. Wasn't that long ago, pretty much most on here seemed impressed with what he was doing. But hey, I'm just a casual fan, what do I know. ? He could be doing everything wrong.

Why is it really sad? Some of my best times supporting this club was while I was blissfully unaware about what was going on behind the scenes. Look, I've been reading this site for the best part of 20 years. I'm not completely oblivious and everyone knows I get involved in the QPR chat in here, so I don't really need to justify how much I care about what goes on. I was interested in the direction we was going under Nourry, and we started to look more professional. All I'm saying is I'm happy to give to at least January before I get on Nourrys case. I just don't care about his communication skills.

Yeah the guy has only been in charge for 9 months and for the first 6 months there was barely a murmur of criticism. If we were performing on the pitch as most of us expected after what we achieved since Marti took over last season then the mood would be different. If the results improve the feel bad factor dissipates.

He was criticised for holding the pre season behind closed doors and refusing to let Marti interview. Threads on here will attest to this.
This was in June / July when arguably his stock was at its highest. Definitely not true or fair to say this is related solely to performance on the pitch.
The points are valid either way.

I remember when two fans got engaged (i.e. he proposed marriage and she accepted) on the match day centre circle at LR. This was done to the accompanying song from the crowd, " you don't know what you're doing!"

Agree. If the results were much better I don't anyone could or would be having a pop at Nourry. None of us complained about the summer signings either.

7. Does the Supporter Advisory Board support the new Fan Engagement Plan?
Just to prove what AI can do right now, I loaded the plan into an AI tool and asked it to create an audio podcast. Here it is below, summarising the text and turning it into what the club would like to happen: https://jumpshare.com/s/5Csxj9Abkd5bFFpIkabw
The voices are completely AI generated, the script is generated by the AI and it has produced and edited it all in about 5 minutes. This is where AI is now - it's no wonder Clive is worrying about his job.

What a load of bollocks.
Yes but what's your virtual beliefs Connell ??? 🙂
Straight to the point but basically your posts sums up all this BS perfectly !!
I worked in corporate world in my 20s and early 30s but it was pretty hollow existence for me - not my scene - and those that speak this kind of language that means nothing, usually are the ones that get further up the ladder. I wasn't meant for that type of game because it just wound me up.
Nourry is 26 and no real background in football and he has only just started and it's been a disastrous start to the season. It's not his fault of his age and also background .This is more down to Hoos and others who have basically decided Christian is almost in dictatorial control of the club and the way he speaks and posts publicity material shows dangerous use and control by AI of writing all his communications.
I have had to use AI a little bit in fundraising bids for charity I work for but you have to adapt the way it speaks as its still at a stage of being a robot. It does not use human emotion and human logic as yet. And funders are aware of what's written by AI and look at it negatively as it shows laziness of thinking.
There has been a lot of rumours about data being our major strategy in who.we have signed. Some signings have been decent. Two or three as yet have been very disappointing.
I originally thought against what Clive was concerned with, with us having no knowledge of people's contracts etc but now as the season start has foundered, there is very little leaking out from the club about any joined up thinking.
The hiding of all other staff and also the manager does get the fans to think it's because Nourry might be covering his back There is a belief most signings have been Nourry influenced as to Marti but am not sure now myself.that it's helpful we.dont know a lot of what goes on and who is responsible for what as like with myself on here., we second guess who is really calling the shots
My own personal view of virtual fan engagement to me means, we not able to meet in person as the club might leak incriminating information and also we might find out who calls the shots and who is on board and who is not.
Engagement with fans. To me that currently is zero. If we were doing well, I think Marti could be at the fans forum and there's no need cover up who is calling the shots as everybody is happy.
The problem being though, most people - younger and older - have enough experience in life of when they are being fed corporate BS. Most of us know this happens and how it's is total and complete tosh speaking politely. But we put up with and learn to shrug our shoulders as it's our livelihood.
Football is a different animal entirely. It's not a model that means it's in line with a normal business organisation. So much is on enthusiasm, loyal support, and love for the club, hence why a lot of us are suspicious of this kind of hands off leadership.
I think though even if we are doing well, we still would prefer to be fed the truth instead of constant papering over the cracks without actually saying anything at all.

Interestingly I ran the document through a couple of tools which test the AI elements in a document; they're really useful to sort out the original from the machine produced. The verdict from 3 of them was that this is fully human produced...a person wrote this not a machine.

No sh1t, Sherlock!
News flash. We are not performing. Hence the questions; the analysis, the opinions of what is going wrong or has gone wrong.
