What we need is better players

What we need is better players...I think you've stumbled on something here...

Cifuentes is unproven in the Championship and has to my knowledge never won anything as a Manager,

Yet somehow it's petulant to question his involvement is signing the likes of Madsen & Celar,

I cannot believe he has had no input on these signings and has left it 100% to Nourry & Belk.

We have down-graded considerably on Willock & Dykes, both of who were key to keeping us in this division the last 2 seasons

We are bang in trouble.

No word salad will change that, Sometimes it's easier to say you called it wrong.

Brum spent £35m in the close season, £10m in the permanent signing of one forward.

Kevin Gallen believes Frey should be a 3rd choice 2nd forward for the last 20 minutes, I'm not sure I'd be hanging my hat on him keeping us up.

Attacking set pieces was atrocious, Id be happy just to see a coherent attacking style which a previous poster noted we've seem away at Preston and home against Leeds,

Austin shot to pieces and a terrible pro (sic),

You wouldn't want Warburton to replace Nourry, really?

Sure you're not on the board with such insight?

Yep, the one hung out to dry by a club legend, but Jeff Hendricks heh, let's scapegoat Jeff.

Warburton made one error of judgement, Andre Gray, equalled by the fans error of judgement in listening to Austins platitudes.

Stark preview but riveting like a good horror film,

On back if it I listened to Kevin Gallen on WLS Podcast,

Very sobering, we can't go short, we can't long, and our No 1 Striker should be a 3rd choice coming on as a 2nd striker for the last 20 minutes.

We're in the trenches for sure.

I'm not calling for Cifuentes to be sacked, altho I was one of the few who was sceptical from the off,

I would be delighted if our Owners swallowed their pride and invited back Mark Warburton on Monday morning ideally as our DoF for 3 reasons:

1. Warburton knows players of the ilk of Dom Ball who are likely free agents who can improve our Starting XI immediately.

2. Warburton has an attacking style of play, Cifuentes to date, hasn't managed to get more than 1 player in the Box on more than a few occasions.

3. Warburton could manage our well meaning but error prone owners.

I have worked with lots of sons of wealthy men, very very few have the same nouse of their forebears who self made,

Ruben's a nice fella, probably too nice and was more comfortable around similarly nice lads like Les etc rather than someone like Warburton who's more hard nosed,

This was why I always wanted Warburton to move upstairs as our DoF, creating a transition with the likes of Eustace to 1st Team Coach.

There's humour then there's vulgar, leave Clive to the funnies.

So either he failed his GCSE's?

Or he joined at Middle School age?

Know some ex St Paul's Rs fans so worth asking if he's some super bright lad or a bullshitter.

Of all those touted for sale in the summer, the one I least minded leaving was Paal as I really like the cut of Larkeche, the desire he showed that night to set up that equaliser told me he was the right sort,

Dundee poster alao highlighted his desire and will to win, a rare commodity at times,

Also mentioned defensively suspect occasionally & given our inability to coach players, it may be he will always be a Wingback rather than a Fullback at this level.

I think in critiquing Cifuentes, Varane & Dunne (yet again stepping up & showing desire in leading by example & getting grief from our fans for whatever reason) we are missing a bit of an elephant in the room, namely the lack of an on-field Captain to make those subtle in game adjustments to make a difference,

Cook is a decent Championship Centre Half but for me, he plays for himself and doesn't lead the team or communicate effectively on the pitch, unless he's looking for a scapegoat for his errors,

I get the group-think will jump in with he's the least of our problems, but is he?

Cook wasnt waving his arms when he lost his runner he was unfairly pointing the finger of blame away from himself and squarely at Nardi, then Dunne seems to intervene and he starts pointing at Saito...

This is not what I want from our Captain with an inexperienced Championship Manager and a make-shift team,

I want a Clint Hill type, pulling Dunne tighter to him, pushing Field tighter to Santos to double up on Doak, pointing & yelling at Chair when he's not tracking back and more,

Not just relying on Dunne to bring the ball out and only doing so himself if the opposition are a man down, creating triangles with Varane and stepping up with the ball like Rob Dickie did,

If we are to stay up, we need him to become a leader on the field, and to date, I'm yet to see it in Cook.

Roy Keane with John Sitton as his No2,

and I want a ring-side seat when Madsen, Celar & Andersen saunter in @ Half-Time have strolled around aimlessly for 45 minutes,

I pay to be entertained & enjoy the experience, I wouldn't for once feel short changed.

Agree 100%,

Warburton DoF & Eustace 1st Team Coach was as good as we were going to get, and self interest of a few effed it up,

And I'm not digging out Marti as in a club with a proper infrastructure he'll do fine.

Sound idea and aware he's very highly thought of but I'd add Reuben too seems to be a decent bloke, just needs a competent, experienced DoF who can be trusted with the till.

I thought that person was Warburton and now Academy clique have been sorted out he might be up for returning.

Not sure if he can be trusted with the till, but I'd hope so.

Yes, fair play to him, wins headers & tackles,

Like Morgan, both men who look like boys,

Compared to Celar, Madsen & Andersen who are the complete opposite, cowards.

Warburtons a workaholic who's passion is football,

Two statements you couldn't make about our previous DoF (and I like Les as a bloke)

Warburton understands the limitations of a purely stats based recruitment model,

Warburton is an experienced business man who could help manage our sons of wealthy men owners,

Warburton knows the Championship and players suited to compete at this level,

And finally, Warburton had a clear attacking style of football Cifuentes doesn't, so he could help him here,

Other that the above.......

He came on as a replacement, and wasn't 1 on 1 against Ben Doak.
