It is weird that Frey doesn’t seem to know how to clap. Holds his fingers very awkwardly. |

Praising him as a coach and saying how pleased he was that the club stuck with him and that the players clearly loved playing for him. |

A lone striker can be a back-to-goal wrestler like Frey, Dykes or Chris Martin, looking to hold on long enough for support or buy a free kick, or a speedy wanderer like Lloyd played last night, pulling defenders into space and taking them on with pace. Lloyd first caught the eye for me against Luton in the league cup, when he suddenly gave us a threat after Celar (who can’t play either role) was easily snuffed out. I feel a bit for Kolli who has been asked to play back to goal in recent weeks and against Preston at home, it just doesn’t suit him. Good on him for taking it on though. |

He’s a great asset to throw on defending a lead, when the opposition are playing up high. Sinclair was great at harrying defenders into errors but Alfie is much better on the ball. |

Certainly logical and he is so accurate on his approach he can set up in advance. I always imagined that right handers would have a natural hook towards the bottom left of the board hence the general preference for 16 and 8 (plus two chances as you say). Littler is just different. The only thing can hold him back is appetite and a fraying of his action over time. MVG was blowing away older players when he first emerged too. |

Bone dry, unfortunately! |

Having three games in a row against teams below us is a novel experience, as is having a game in hand over a few of them. |

Missed this, have transferred the content. There has been no new manager bounce under Ivan Juric who has become the seventh Southampton boss to lose his opening three league games in charge. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo Is that unusual? Any ideas about our record, given how many new managers we’ve had? |

Looks quite trim to be fair but hardly got a kick. Chris Martin, Jordan Cousins and Scott Sinclair (!) provided an extra bit of interest. |

Taylor Richards on the telly now! Cambridge 89th minute sub, loads of injury time left. [Post edited 4 Jan 14:32]

Extraordinary, weird that he finds double 10 so easy, never seen anyone like him. At least Warrington can win one title. [Post edited 3 Jan 22:06]

Along with Harry Arter, who played no games from May 2022–June 2024 while under contract to Nottingham Forest. A role model for any young professional. |
