Not up at mid east Wales/England 1/2degrees through day and not so much here either 4-6 degrees. The Wye River bank will be treacherous this weekend river was bank high Monday 5.6 mtrs above summer levels seems to be a weekly occurrence recently.

Minus 7.4 on 22:08 - Jan 9 with 500 views | Boundy | I remember when I worked on the overhead lines we had a breakdown on the Heads of the Valleys common and it was minus 10 degrees, before we climbed we had to hit the ice off the leg of the tower as we climbed , no permanent attachment in those days either. Spent a few months in Pembroke back in 82 when we had the snow falls to beat all snow falls, the weight of ice loading on the conductors pulled 2 towers (pylons) cross arms to the ground. Great days

Best job I ever had , hard in the winter , shorts and tee shirts in the summer , this of course before H&S rightly kicked in, looking back I sometimes cringe at some of things we got up to. Paying for it now though with knackered knees and back.

The winter of 1963 would be the worse any on here could remember. I remember standing of the frozen sea at Blackpill and ppl skating on it. Early 1982 was bad too, but nothing like 63

63 I can remember walking across the sea at Oystermouth, it was fine until you came to a heavy concentration of salt in the water and went straight through. Bloody freezing.

Not saying it was but bad enough to cut off people for weeks and deny them electricity and water.

Normally with the heat wave comes the rain , not sure which I prefer , the cold I think at least you can get jobs done and its not dark grey skies.

Cold and dry definitely. You can’t do much when it’s pouring down.
