Interesting as the Hummel deal was announced as being 5 years and they've only done two.

Did we terminate early or them?

Yes but so was Under Armour, that was because UA were pulling out of team sports so were happy to terminate, Hummel had issues with their UK distributor going bust a couple of years ago,, perhaps they are looking to get out of the UK market and therefore offered us a break clause.

Indeed a break clause is not uncommon in these deals

Ah ok. They'll be terminating their deal with Everton too then.

Why on earth would Brighton Buddha be bothered about the kit manufacturer????

Is this why we kept losing in September???

As excuses go, it’s up there….

I have absolutely zero interest in these things, but it seems that Brighton's kit is made by Nike.

Given how utterly essential Alfie House is indicating the kit manufacturer would appear to be to performance and the morale of the manager and squad, this surely means that there is no way that the Brighton Buddha would desert us for Brighton.

Nike use DRIFIT technology on their kits which helps improve breathability via moisture wicking fabric.

This will be immensely useful to Rusty when he goes into a cold sweat about playing two full backs at full back.

Which has better breathability though?

Nike or Puma?

This could be far more crucial than Sekou’s ability to run 100 yards in less than 2 minutes.

The answer to best breathability is Adidas HEAT.RDY technology used in the shirts the players wear and in the authentic jersey range they sell to supporters compared to the standard replica shirts normally sold to supporters in the club shop / sportswear retailers. The authentic shirts cost £110-£160 a pop depending on the club v £60-£80 for regular replica shirts (when not on offer).
Whilst the Nike DRIFIT shirts wick well by acting to move moisture by capillary action from the inside to the outside surface of the fabric, Adidas HEAT.RDY technology maximizes airflow so you feel cool in addition to being well wicked. HEAT.RDY tech garments are made with a yarn which contains 50% Parley Ocean Plastic which is reimagined plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities, ocean shorelines and directly from the ocean itself thus preventing it from continuing to pollute our oceans and their costal environs.
Oh no, I've set the techie nerd alarm off - it's OK, I'll get my coat.....

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know breathability was a word until this evening.

Every day is a school day, as they say.

Steer clear of Nike, their baseball kits are so thin fans can see the players knobs through them...

That's my birthday present sorted then.

My defence will be 'it was purely down to Nike your honour for their poor quality materials' as I'm arrested walking around M&S Hedge End ladies underwear section in said kit...

This isn’t new tech, it’s just that years ago the manufacturers didn’t big up the tech like they do now - if you are charging the public over £100 and up to £160 for a football shirt that is the same as the players wear then you make it sound as good as possible to justify the eye watering cost of buying one.

Only some of it - mainly the reclaimed plastic blurb, sadly the rest of it is info absorbed from my time in sports retail. Due to my job role, I used to get tech training by tech reps from the big hitters, a visiting Nike tech rep was called an Ekin - because they knew Nike backwards… I assure you I am not making that up! Just don’t get me started on the footwear tech 😀

I see today that Derby County are also going to be using Puma.

So they are going with any old shite then.
