Polter Pain 08:42 - Aug 26 with 4580 views | WestbourneR | Gonna call this silly early cos it's a message board and it's fun. He looked unhappy to me last night, his chirpy demeanour seems worn down already. I don't get he's found his place in the team and it's often born out of his technical struggles. He just isn't refined enough to make and impact and he is far from a natural finisher. I think it's extremely worrying that after Austin he's or striker. We need 2 more in that position of proper quality if we don't want to find ourselves in serious trouble after the transfer window. [Post edited 26 Aug 2015 16:59]

It is very painful to be a poster pinned to a message board.

Poster Pain on 10:23 - Aug 26 with 4314 views | RBlock | I was really impressed with Polter last night. Yes, he did miss that one v one quite spectacularly but the turn leading up to that was sublime. Maybe it was because we were playing League 2 opposition but his hold up play looked fantastic, miles ahead of Charlie's. I think with time he could be a decent striker.

Agreed. I think he was a little disheartened not getting much of the ball because the rest of the team was so poor. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Think this league is about 2 divisions above where he might be comfortable. Although I am happy for him to ram my words back down my throat with 20 goals this season. But I just don't see it happening. [Post edited 26 Aug 2015 18:47]

Polter Pain on 19:46 - Aug 26 with 3669 views | adhoc_qpr | Didn't see him last night. but he's shown he has something about him in his appearances so far. Maybe not going to score prolifically but he puts himself about. Can't really write him off based on a game playing in front of basically our reserves. Agree we need more quality and depth upfront, especially when Austin goes.
Polter Pain on 20:12 - Aug 26 with 3585 views | WadR | Excluding pre-season games, Polter has played 2 full cup games against League 2 clubs and a combined 42 minutes of league football, all as a sub. Find it hard to really assess how good he is on that. To write him off as being 2 divisions off Championship football already is ridiculously knee-jerkey. Was there last night and his touch seemed a little off, but it was a wet pitch and the service into him wasn't great. And one or 2 bits of control against Cardiff, where he took the ball down with the outside of the foot were really impressive. He's surprisingly pacy for a big unit, and although I haven't been massively impressed with his hold up play in the air, he has pretty good awareness. Can people just hold off on talking in absolute terms about a player who's barely played?
