Eintracht Frankfurt Turn Down Bid For Saints Target Tuesday, 1st Sep 2020 17:18 Media reports in Germany are saying that Eintracht Frankfurt have rejected a significant bid from an English club for Southampton linked defender Martin Hinteregger. Central defender Martin Hinteregger has been linked with a move to St Mary's and now according to German daily the Frankfurter Rundschau, Eintracht Frankfurt have rejected a bid worth €20m from an unnamed English club. Whether that club is Saints or not is not mentioned, but It has been claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt have ruled out selling the defender and wasted little time in rejecting the offer. The Bundesliga side signed him from Augsburg on loan in January 2019 before making the deal permanent later in summer for €9m, but what might put Saints off is the players age, he will turn 28 next week, some will say that the Saints policy is not to sign anyone over 25/26, but the reality is that Saints need some experience in the centre of the back four and Hinteregger will be well known to Ralph Hasenhuttl, but whether he will break from the blueprint to sign his fellow Austrian is yet to be seen.
