Cav sending off appealed
Monday, 12th Aug 2013 13:18 by Col

Dale have confirmed that they are submitting an appeal against Peter Cavanagh's sending off on Saturday.

Cavanagh was sent off after just seven minutes for what was deemed to be violent conduct on Burton's Robbie Weir. Replays showed that Cavanagh had made conduct with the midfielder with a high challenge but it looked to be without intent.

Such a sending off carries an automatic three match ban, which would rule the club captain out until the Bury game at the start of September.

However, the club have confirmed that they are submitting an appeal against the suspension.

Can't see it being overturned as they will most likely back the refs original decision with him being recently promoted to the league list.
It is about time that incompetent officials like Mr Stocksbridge should be exposed to possible bans themselves for poor decisions. If the ban is overturned how about a 3 game ban for the official instead. It would certainly be a suitable punishment for his woeful performance on Saturday even Burton fans were complaining about him on the way out of the ground.
