In the day of the EGM when the new class of shares was voted in, Simon met with.myself as Trust chair.
I requested the meeting to present details of a verbal offer designed to buy another month of time whilst other survival options were explored.
I also advised Simon that the board stood a very good chance of defeat.
I think the absence of an offer in writing with proof of funds diluted the credibility of this and sonthe meeting went ahead.
At the time, the American involved had received an excellent reference from a personal friend and American business owner who operates in thensame US city.
During the due diligence period carried out by the Ogdens, Simon told me.he was investigating reversing the EGM vote via another EGM. I don't know why this did not happen, but I do know that a number of legalities surrounding ownership did surface and this issue may have been one.
Although the journey to today since the club went up for sale, has been awful not one of us could have ever dreamed for ownership with the integrity, professionalism and inclusiveness as what the Ogden organisation bring to the club. So, so grateful. |

I believe it was 6 months between the bullish, rude financial health statement and the club going up for sale.
"At April 2022, the club has a stable financial platform and cash reserves to be well positioned for next season. We have returned during 2021/22 to being a properly and prudently run football club ..."
The PR effect alone of Sir Peter embracing Chris Dunphy would be huge. I believe there are some bridges to be built with other VPs but this situation can be addressed positively [Post edited 22 Feb 10:03]

Interesting and encouraging that two of the three have been appointed since the Ogden family saved us.
I hope the MD is afforded the autonomy required to make decisions without having to refer everything upstairs. |

Much of the post-match chat we had consisted of our inability to beat low-lying teams, as we struggled similarly last season, and consequently how we could help deliver on Project 5000?
