This is why I was getting frustrated before. Yes stats are not everything, but they are certainly an effective indicator. |

We have played better. Not the Everton game though. And still allowing too many dangerous chances, especially from set pieces. |

But this is pretty much what I'm saying though.
1. Guidolin is doing better than Curtis.
2. Playing like we did at Everton will not get us three points very often.
3. We concede too many big chances, often from set-pieces - far more than we actually take ourselves.
4. The players Guidolin would want are a lot different to the ones he has.
5. Guidolin is doing OK with what he has got, and he will get us to safety.
6. That still doesn't mean we don't have to change and evolve. |

I wouldn't say Shelvey is hard-working, nor would I say Cork is. Cork is slow, and gritty but all he does is receive and recycle the ball backwards or sideways.
I think it was wrong to sell Shelvey before a new manager came in and gave him another go at least. If he still had his problems after then so be it. No doubting he's got far more about him than Ki and Cork as far as pure talent is concerned. |

If you actually read properly, you'll see that I said he would suit that role better than Ki or Cork, not that he was ideally suited to it. Jonjo gets a bad rap from you lot, no wonder he left South Wales with his tail between his legs. |

Just because Fabianski did not have a save to make does not mean that a chance wasn't created?
Seamus Coleman missed a sitter from 2 yards out, but obviously it wasn't a chance then.
The xG maps take into account shot quality, how the shots are built up, whether they are headers, weak foot, have defenders in the way, are after a dribble, a cross, etc. etc. They are very detailed. Together, the expected goal values of each shot are combined to give a total number that the team was 'expected' to score that game.
I've been using the Everton map as an example of us not being punished, and gaining the three points, despite an altogether poor performance. Yes, we got the three points which is great and I'm thoroughly happy about, but it does not mean that the performance should be lauded. As a rule of thumb, presenting the opposition with those types of chances on a weekly occurence will see 3-1/3-2/2-1/2-2 results more often than Swansea wins. |

No, you're taking what I'm saying totally out of context.
What I've said is that continuing to play the way we are playing will soon no longer yield the same great rewards we are currently getting. That, contrary to your genius mind, does not mean we should just automate the season. Instead, it means the manager and players need to find a solution to their problems. :) |

That's the problem, we didn't have any good chances apart from the pen. The other goal was from a tight angle from a decent distance. |

In this context, it simply means that in the long run, if you played out that Everton game with the same chances, Swansea would not win many of the matches. |

Yes, because affording your opposition 3 or 4 big chances in a central area in your penalty box while not creating anything yourself is a surefire way to earn premier league survival. |

It's called regressing to the mean. Playing the way we have, the chances of us continuing to snag results like we've been getting is unlikely.
Sometimes wins can mask problems. While it's always nice to get the three points, doesn't mean you should ignore problems that you can see brewing under the surface. |

It's not about this result in particular. It's about how relying on this type of luck to get results in the long run will prove extremely dangerous. |
