One of the things that impressed me most was when he filled in at left back a couple of times early in the season.

Out of position, in a new, highly physical division, in what was then a team devoid of confidence. No complaints, cracked on and did a decent job.

Really hope we can sign him up.

Great interview on Sky with Jimmy and Ilias. Both genuinely so likeable

Is it my imagination, or is our record on Sky, especially on Friday nights, a lot better recently? Was absolutely shocking for a long time

From BBC....

"My oh my!

There could have been another exquisite goal from a striped shirt."

Striped! Outrageous

Sky Comms keep going on about Chair not scoring this season. Totally overlooking the fact he was injured for the majority.

Paal's having a tough time and now on a yellow. Wonder if he'll consider Fox there at half time/ soon after. Would help with defending these set pieces

Paul Smyth's long throw...
at 15:09 10 Feb 2025

Yeah Celar's came to mind too. The fact it was from a Smyth 'long throw' made the goal all the more flabbergasting at the time.

Agree that it's not our most potent weapon. But I somehow feel quite fond of it at the same time

Steve Cook's cross before the second goal..... Overhit, or great vision to spot Saito free at the back post?

Having Chair back makes such a difference, even when he's not been quite on form, because he so rarely loses the ball.

Dunne off?

Was just thinking back to that sliding doors moment, pointed out in one of Northern's match reports, when the Bristol City winger went off injured, having terrorised Jimmy in his first game at RB.

Incredible trajectory since

He just nails every answer. And casually quotes Johan Cruyff for good measure.

Team Spirit - Definitely in Evidence Here

A simple thing, but getting them all in for that end of season photo team photo last year said a lot I think.

Like, 'this is something worth being a part of, we actually want to be a part of it and enjoy each others company.'

(Although when we were bottom of the league I did wonder if it might have been a one time thing!)

Steady, and has hardly put a foot wrong lately. Often seems to be organising and talking. He's stepped up massively in Cook's absence.

Bloody 'ell, typical that they seem to have hired the second coming of Winston Churchill just in time for our game.

I want to play for Plymouth after watching that team talk

Loved his answer to 'how pleased are you with you number of goal involvements' question.

'Somewhat pleased... I can always do more.' Seemed like he meant it too.

Clive meeting with Nourry
at 23:41 16 Jan 2025

Thanks for the write up.

As usual with Nourry, I find myself agreeing with, or at least seeing the sense in, a lot of what he says, while wincing slightly at the way he says it.

And I can't believe he hasn't been advised to admit he got the comms thing wrong. Would have helped him a lot IMO. As a fan base we are very forgiving of players if we can see honesty and effort (just look at the positive reaction to Alfie's contract). I'm sure the same would be true of the CEO. Just be honest.
