Hopefully, yes. I think our forward options are getting a bit tired and predictable. Would be nice to get an "unknown quantity" in the mix for the remaining Qualifiers.
As for tonight, I hope he scores a barrowload - or anyone in a white shirt for that matter!
Even though it's only a friendly, even a draw would be enough to make my life unbearable up here!
I'd be very suprised if Lambert got more than 30-35 minutes on the park and very surprised if he got dibs for a free-kick over some of the pretty boy usual squad players even if he does get on the park.
Equally I fully expect Scotland to be mad Jock patriotic up for this game whereas England will be mostly thinking about the commencement of the Premiership and their contract negotiations.
On that basis I personally won't be touching 2-1 with a bargepole, I'd rather stick my money on a greyhound I've never heard of.
I simply hope he scores one from more than 1 inch as he is patently a better player than David Nugent.

Completely agree with this and I can see that being the route to an unpleasant result.

I pray not, though.
Whilst many of them will be, what about the five English-born members of the squad?...
Matthew Gilks - Born in Rochdale Russell Martin - Born in Brighton Jordan Rhodes - Born in Oldham George Boyd - Born in Chatham James Morrison - Born in Darlington
All true, but I'm sure the hysteria surrounding this game up here will transfer to even those players.
To me, this game is just a novelty ahead of the remaining Qualifiers, but some of my colleagues, who should know better, are treating it like the most meaningful fixture in the history of football.
Makes me even happier knowing I'm fleeing back to Dale this weekend.

Some comments from jock captain Scott Brown on tonight's game
"It is going to be a great occasion taking the lads out at Wembley,"
"It is going to be huge, it is definitely right up there, even bigger than taking Celtic out for the last-16 of the Champions League.
"It is going to be hard, high-tempo and a great occasion for the fans as well and I'm sure the Tartan Army will be there in their thousands.
"I think there is a lot more pressure on them to beat us.
"We are the underdogs. But we have got great players and match winners as well, so we are all looking forward to it."
I'm with Fitzo on this one, the jocks are well up for this and making a big thing of it although not many in England give two shits about this game and rightly so IMO.
Even so, England will probably still have too much for them
