I believe Mahoney changed his surname to Cooper, but I am probably wrong.
I was thinking of doing the same except changing it to Lord Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, but I learned that's the name of some family with Nazi sympathisers in them. Shame that, never mind. |  |

Looking at the Reddit Championship forum fans from every club are bemoaning the lack of a striker, the lack of depth, and in Oxford's case, the lack of kit announcement.
Even if we are out of the disastrous FFP cycle we still need someone to stump the cash up to fund the next lot of loss making ventures so its not straightforward.
Much like Northern's season previews, its all a bit pointless worrying until the end of August as everything will be done late on by everyone. |  | | |

Well the stats would beg to differ. One thing that annoys me about Colback is the cheap yellows, but that’s been there throughout his entire career, from the start and every season. Some of them are infuriatingly boneheaded for a senior pro; not many are because he’s ‘off the pace’. |
One of us at the end of the season will be right, the other wrong.

I do think we need another CM (at least), but to look at two pre-season games and say Colback is 'done' is laughable. Had an excellent end to the season. And they are friendlies. We really do need to stop making such huge judgements based on training games. |
It’s ridiculous to write off a player because of a couple of preseason games, especially as he was an important player for the team and manager earlier this year.
It’s like claiming Sinclair Armstrong is going to score 20+ goals this season for Bristol City because he’s scored 2 in 2 in friendlies against League 2 teams. |  | | |

I am with Ned and others, its a joke you write Colback off. He was a key player at the end of last season and brings experience to the squad.

How much more business will we do in this window?
The release of squad numbers includes five dev squad players not counting Kolli. Together with the signings of Karamoko Dembele and Koki Saido hopefully imminent, we would seem to have a full contingent.
But given players who are under 21 at the start of the season are not counted in the maximum quota of 25 players (unless they're on loan), we have 2 slots left that could be filled. And one or two players might still depart.
Any more incomings including loans will be dependent on what we can afford but a left back must surely be a priority now. And arguably a first choice left back at that.
Of course, an Eze sale could drastically change the picture but only if it happened in time for us to move for other players. And there are still no concrete signs Eze is going anywhere. | | | |

LB probably weakest point (no depth).
We could probably cope with losing Chair now Saito, Dembele and Madsen, but less so if JCS goes. I just hope it's not last minute like when we lost Remy and couldn't replace him.
