Baggies Or Not Baggies... QPR Vs WBA Match Thread 08:25 - Mar 3 with 48245 viewsSpaceman_P

THAT IS THE QUESTION!!! (keeping it Shakespearian)

Ok guys, in good faith, I have started this post early yet again. As the vibes associated with such early-posts seem to help us/me.

I feel that Loftus Road may be another sell-out and just like the last three games - I still consider WBA to be a very important match. If we win this then we are in the ascendency.

Swansea (the most boring side after Stoke) will be in sight and dare I say it, we may even surpass Watford very soon, they're going down!!!

Lets hope the gods also shit on our surrounding teams.

So from the UFO, my heart says 2-1 win us. Another close game. Going for a Willock and Field goal.

CROWD needs to be the twelfth man.

Right... i'm off to make some Crop Circles near Andover.

over n out

Paul

PS. edited note (let's remember Chair will be experiencing Ramadan after next weekends fixture, so he's going to want to go out on a high)

Oh and well done to Sam Field. I've given him pelters on here so glad he made me eat my words. If we had a truly prolific striker - we would not be where we are. A while ago I would have been glad to see the back of most of this team...now I'm not so sure. Maybe playing for their futures has focused a few minds.

Well done Rangers
Great football spoilt by incompetent officials yet again

Incompetent is being polite, that ref was an absolute kunt.

Odd one from the ref tonight. Thought he was pretty good up until our penalty. Let the game flow, didn't give everything as a free kick. After the penalty his decisions were all over the place. Not helped by linos who missed Paul Smyth having his shirt ripped off.

Anyway, pleased to come out of that with a point considering West Broms negative tactics. Someone earlier was saying what a great coach Corboran is. I'm not sure. They went very negative very early and got what they deserved. They should have tried to get a third but offered nothing going forward in the second half before we scored.

We were sensational tonight. Yeah it didn't quite go our way, but we played them off the park. And they'll be in the playoffs. Play like that every week and there is nothing more to worry about. What Cifuentes is doing to this group of players is magnificent, I hope the remaining people can see that what this team needed all along was coaching, they needed gameplans and they needed to know their roles on the pitch, the goal they are working towards. They needed to be coached. They never needed some noisy Shaun Derry type to shout at them, they needed this and its bloody working.

I think them going negative was testament to how well we played tonight. Corboran saw the writing on the wall and sensibly shut up shop.

don't remember ever watching QPR dominate a team so much.. apart from the 2 goals WBA did nothing.. We were brilliant, but didn't capitalize. We forced so many errors, and the ref made some horrific errors which he should be punished for... imagine if we played the entire second half against 10 men... and had a second penalty..
Was dissapointed Frey took the penalty.. I hope that was planned pre-game and he is good at them in training.. but it was a bad take.

Just got back to the car and we were saying if you had asked anyone who was the team going for the play offs they would say it was us... a fantastic performance by us tonight, and well if you miss pens there is a good chance you don't win games, such a shame.
Frey seems very limited, but blimey he make Dykes look lazy!!! Did he take penalties for his other club? .
Lost count of the corners tonight, but very few were dangerous. The goal I think came from one and the overhead was
The Kipre clearance was it handball..... from SA it looked a great header off the line.... but reading the thread it seems it was handball.
Field my MOTM.... what a player he is for us. The defence again looked really strong and it took 2 great goals from them to score
Would have taken the draw as said before the game.... but that performance for me tonight was every bit as good as Leicester... weplayed some lovely stuff there, and great character....we are not going down!!!

Superb stuff from us that really shows how high our bar has to be for the rest of the season. They looked shell-shocked by our onslaught, and only the bent/shit ref and some inspired goalkeeping/defending kept them in it - he and his atrocious colleagues missed a 2nd pen, missed a red card, missed blatant fouls on Smyth. It's an embarrassment to the EFL, whatever the passion of our performance.

Field was a colossus, Cook a rock (and what a goal that would have been but for Furlong!), and Anderson was conducting the spirit of Stan at times. Unfortunately, Frey, who should have been hooked for Armstrong and whose penalty was really poor, and Illy, weren't good enough on the night, which diluted our end product . But we still should have won comfortably 4-2 on the night at least.

We've gained a point on Huddersfield, overtaken Brum on goal difference, but let's all hope it isn't two points catastrophically dropped come May. (Andy Sinton doesn't think it will be, which gives me heart .)

Maybe but I think that's a bit generous to Corboran. They showed no courage and went to a back five very early. Asking for trouble.

I thought West Brom their two goals aside, were piss poor: pedestrian, jittery at the back, and weirdly negative from 30 minutes in. I see them falling down the table, and hope they do. We outplayed, outfought, and outclassed them pretty much from start to finish, and if their manager says anything different, he's as dumb and delusional as he and his team are over-rated.

Very frustrating not to win again against Albion who are another of these clubs we find hard to beat recently no matter how well we play. Had we scored the penalty there was plenty of time to go on and win it but waiting another half hour for the leveller meant we ran out of time. Hope the ref's decisions and fluffed penalty don't come back to bite us from lost points in the final analysis.

It looked like he changed his mind at the last second, which is usually fatal. He shaped to thump the ball only to then side foot it.

Scuffed it as well. Don't want to bash the guy because he put himself about tonight but a pressure moment like that and sadly, he bottled it.

Thought he might have rushed it a tiny bit as well?

I'm not sure, so interesting to see waht others thought at the time. Will have to watch it back but the studies of late show that players who take their time to re-set after the whistle is blown are far more likely to score.

Well that was eventful! Kind of get why the ref didn't give it, as his view was probably blocked from where he was and bearly noone from our side appealed for it. But where was the lino? Surely he should see that?! Joke. Proud of our performance though just kept going and a point was the least we deserved

The one time you want Dykes on the pitch.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Best game of the season for me, by some distance. We deserved the win, but like many I'd have taken the draw pre-kickoff and even around 75 minutes.

Completely agree.

A fantastic end-to-end game.

Either way, it was a dog's dinner of an attempt, and really disappointing from an experienced player, who doesn't fully convince me right now.
