500/1 to finish top 6 08:56 - Nov 1 with 5537 viewsActonExile

15 points adrift but 32 games left.

Just saying.

Worth a pound, pays for next years season ticket.

Come on we've all had a drink.

It's still a team with strikers who don't score and a defence that concedes 2 a game, if we finish 16th we've had a very good season

Ah, that gives me a nice, warm feeling. Like comfy sofa and lovely pair of slippers.

This is genuinely one of the best things about being a football fan. Optimism and the belief that despite decades of experience telling you otherwise, you can’t help but wonder, but what if everything clicks and we go on a mad run? You can have been relegated with six points, but the new £30,000 right-back looks really good in a 2-1 pre-season win at Oxford City, and you start dreaming of promotion. Absolutely love it. I think it’s some sort of evolutionary coping mechanism that stops us all finding something else to do at the weekend or just watching Real Madrid on the telly.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Cheers Konk.

Don't let the naysayers drag us dreamers down.

PS it's Bet365 offering 500/1, a Celtic fan at work has a William Hill account and it's only 250/1 and even he's put £2 on us.

Said on another thread that we are 5 wins off a play off spot...3 wins in a week and well......
It really is the hope that kills you

Think you’d be better off sticking £200 at 5/2 on us to finish last but the optimism is good.

Hmmm.

18 wins, 12 draws and 2 defeats will get us 74 points.

For a team that has won one game at home in the last year I think top 6 may be a stretch.

Suffering since 1978.

If my potential £501 win gets to the £200 cash out i'll put it on us finishing bottom.

I know it's only three games but I tell you what, if Chair doesn't go to AFCON and if we can have a bit of luck with injuries especially JCS...

Bloody Cardiff who we beat on their own ground under Ainsworth are only outside the playoffs on GD, apart from the current top 4 there's nobody to fear.

If Cifuentes keeps us up it's a huge achievement but playing like we are at the moment it's hard not to look a bit further up the table. I know the realists will tell us the maths don't add up but there were also supposedly no goals in this team & we've gained 4pts on 6th in six games with more winnable fixtures coming up.

I said over the weekend that we are probably the most confident and contented fans of any club in a relegation zone, anywhere.

But we need to be realistic about what's achievable this season. Let's just set an initial target of 50 points. When we get there we can review our end of season target.

So, comparatively, the top 4 better than usual, bottom 2 worse than usual, and the gap between 6th and 21st slimmer than usual.

If that follows through will mean relatively low points total to get into the play offs but a relatively high one to stay up. Might be a 50+ point year like that one where Posh got relegated on what, 52 points?! Equally, perhaps 68-70 gets you into 6th.

I’d still take 16th.

Yesterday I cashed out my two pre-season bets on us, and also on us and Sheff Wed getting relegated, took my £100 and put £5 on us getting promoted. My thinking being that just making top 6 offered lower odds and if we find the momentum to make top 6, we'll be flying and ripe to win the play offs. A total pipedream, but I've spent more on a sh!t pint before, so why not.

We've conceded 3 goals in the last 5 games, with 3 clean sheets!

Best of luck to those who've lumped on.
