Russell Martin Thread on 10:08 - May 24 by Jack11 | I’m totally relaxed but my observations are that an announcement was going to be made a couple of days ago. That deadline has passed. In that timeframe, their CEO has gone. Was Martin his man? That’s unclear. Currently we have a manager whose head has been turned, who is still here despite it being stated that he’d be announced as their manager by now. Everything you’ve said about negotiations is right but has usually happened in the background before the media make the kind of announcements they were making over the weekend. We’ll just have to see how it pans out but my point remains that it’s becoming a mess the longer it drags on. |
Who said there was a deadline. Negotiations take place and when a deal is done they are concluded. If no agreement is made the deal is off. I didn't see any side saying there was a deadline.

I've seen about 40 managers come and go, RM is just another. Next please, hopefully we can push on next season, after all this is a perfect time to change managers. Coopers departure dragged on to long.

The media stated it would be done in 24 hours over 3 days ago. That deadline, date, timeframe, whatever you want to call it, passed, without any updates. Hence people will inevitably speculate as to why everything went quiet for 48 hours.

What the media claims means very little.

With a new manager there will be lots of speculation, movement, ins and outs and getting use to the players at their disposal until the end of the transfer window, hopefully he or she won't try and reinvent the wheel and be able to build on the good form at the end of this season. Martin lost a number of key players from Coopers reign and utilise a number of younger players in the squad, I had my doubts whether he could sustain that run of form with us but now it looks as if we will never know. New season lots to ponder on until it's start🤔

Just toted the managrrs up this will be the 43rd since I been watching us. The last one was defo top in the bull department. There were a few others in contention mind think it must be a modern trait. My top managers. Tosh Laudrup Brendan Frankie Burrows Martinez was good but he likes the sound of his own voice as well.

Same number as me if you count the stand ins. I would also give a mention to Harry G very much underrated but started the original revolution.

They've had a decent deal there then 750 for Manager/head coach and his three coaches, reads to me that we've had our pants pulled down, dear me.

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

They've parted with £750,000 for a manager yet to finish above tenth place (let's be honest, nobody cares about the rest) who could quite easily have been unemployed and available for free three months ago and we've had our pants pulled down?

At least we didn't need to pay anyone off. The difference between paying off and the settlement is well over £1M

Surely not, you might enjoy the fallou on here but the damage done to our club would be massive. Martin being paid for a year not to work, looking for a new manager but who will trust our owners now? The finances take a direct hit...it wouldn't be good from any point of view. No, it's far better that we lower our demands and get him gone than be stuck with him and all the nonsense that brings.

Turned our fortunes around in those last 10 games, the promise of better to come was there, his stock was on an upward curve. I think they've had a good deal, we'll see soon enough though no doubt. [Post edited 24 May 2023 20:31]

Some rather get off on slagging off fellow fans . Not a good watch We need to get this chap well away right now . He should have been released six months ago. And we couldn’t afford to sack him. His combo isn’t much .Just about what he got us to pay for Fishy
