England and racism again 02:33 - Sep 3 with 3417 viewsKeithHaynes

Another successful night for the English in Hungary, but the same old Eastern European rubbish.

Just ban them, deal with it.

Harry Kane on the racist chants aimed at England players: “I didn’t hear that. I will talk to the boys and see if they heard any of it. We will have to report it to Uefa as the rules permit. If that is the case, hopefully Uefa come down strong.”

Karen Carney on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Shocking scenes again, it is unnecessary from the fans.

“As soon as Raheem Sterling scored I thought ‘here we go again’. You knew something was going to happen. It is beyond a joke now.

“The governing bodies have to be consistent and they have to group together and eradicate it. It is not on, it is not good enough.

“Disappointing but credit to the England players for being professional and getting the job done but they shouldn’t have to go through that.

“It is a joke.”

England and racism again on 18:18 - Sep 4 by Ajack_Kerouac

I'll start being ashamed of the British Empire as soon as the Lefties start feeling ashamed of the Soviet Union,China etc. if it's all the same with you.

That day will never come.

Not my area of expertise, but this isn’t a left/right issue, is it?

My first post explained my point.

"It's what people know about themselves inside that makes them afraid" - "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - "The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it"

Its' a crying hame we are so stuck in a class time warp.
Eddie Fireboy is fire in the belly Labour man who hates the Conservative Party and anyone who votes such. They call them scum/filth. It's all over PS

On the other hand,we have people, een as priviliged by birth, schoool or family who tink they are superior to the Plebs. The Plebs love this and glory in being seen as lower class.

I'm lucky not to feel none of this crepe.

I see Russia as the filthiest country of the past 100 years .Yeah Nazi Germany speaks for itself but mother Russia has always had a hand in helping this countries foes and has subjected its own people to decades of death.

Nobody really compares.

Britain subjugated millions but gave it all up and accepted it. We gave them passports to come here and many have benefitted. Fact. We have moved on in a way the eastern bloc could only dream of.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

I don’t see what the current left have to do with Eastern Bloc racism and I don’t see why the right are in anyway accountable for the Empire.

I suppose it works if you present the extremes of the spectrum as the norm.

Ok I’ll have to spell out the points to the headmaster, evidently;

1 - somebody blamed the racism apparent in Eastern Europe on the Orthodox Church (now just imagine for a moment what the reaction would have been if somebody had condemned another religion, like say Islam…do you see the inconsistencies?)

2 - I don’t believe that statement to be an accurate one. As Lohengrin pointed out, Hungary is Catholic (maybe, using the logic of the original argument, the Irish are racist too yes?), also Greece is orthodox and I defy anyone who knows Greece to conclude that they are a racist people.

3 - so what do the Eastern European countries have in common that could be a common factor in the apparent racist attitudes on regular display?
None of them have had a high level of immigration - much like other countries where racism is prevalent (such as China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia etc.)
….but people from all over the world have emigrated to Western, southern and Northern Europe since WWII, it is why our societies are so diverse and the reason why racist attitudes of the past has changed.
What made. Eastern Europe different?
Socialism.

People have left Eastern Europe to go and find work, people aren’t emigrating to Eastern Europe.

Maybe that explains why their societies have not progressed?

Or maybe the answer is that I’m a nasty racist again hey.

I fully understand that - I don’t see why the current left have to apologise for it in the same way I don’t see why the current right should apologise for the Commonwealth.

NB I’ve never suggested you or anyone else on this board is racist.

Can the UK really tell other countries what to do? What did the expect when taking the knee? Ok booos, then sterling scores he runs straight to the away fans celebrating and they chucked drinks containers at him and the rest of the England players, the only thing that may have happened in this match is a handful of supporters made made monkey chants, which I reckon has been amplified by the media to stir up trouble, because I watched the match, and never heard that.

Southgate has been wise in not lecturing Hungary over a handful of morons making animal noises. I saw 100 Millwall fans make sheep noises to the Swansea city bus 10 years ago. Happily Cockney boy Pratley scored two and shut them up. Morons will be morons aided by alcohol and drugs.

Hungary has been under occupation by the Muslim Ottomans and does not want Islamic immigration. It is their choice. Poland do not accept Muslim immigrants. UK chose to stop free travel for people of the European Union our choice. This was an indirect way of reducing Muslim immigration and away of opting out of accepting immigrants as decreed by the EU.

Eastern Europe treats African Asians with respect as visitors and tourists. They do not accept mass immigration. Russia has its own Muslim regions. Chechinya was a problem but was ruthlessly crushed and is now at peace. Dagestan, Ossetia are other region with some autonomy and identity living in peace. Eastern Europe has morons just like we do.

The people who live in the EU are overwhelmingly not moslem.

Therefore why would Brexit from the EU result in ‘reducing muslim immigration’….?
Not invading muslim lands, on the other hand, might just work.

Its a puzzle alright.

In the crazy Summer of 2016 300,000 tough looking refugees were on the Serbian border kept out by the Serb fences. This terrified UK voters. BBC interviews with Syrians and others said "I want to come to England". Mr Merkel said open the gates and come to Germany. They kept coming and she eventually did a deal with Turkiye to stop them crossing to Europe. Unknown number drowned. Armed with EU cash Turkiye stopped the flow immediately and put he smugglers out of business. They currently have around 4 million Immigrants the president calls 'guests'.

At the same time Farage was telling voters that the EU wanted to let Turkiye join the EU associated with free movement. He predicted this, and a few million Turks and Kurds would be on their way to Kent. Many of the Syrians Iraqi Afghans and Africans have English as a second language.

Brexit voters more scared of mass Muslim immigration than loss of markets and factory jobs.
