Query for those tracking the donations: have our American minority shareholders offered anything yet?

Yes, I am sure Dan has.

That's an encouraging gesture, good on him. From my own quick scroll, I noticed a Matt Dickinson chipped in too. Assuming he's the same MD as wrote the piece for The Times, that's another creditable gesture -- journalists get a lot of grief these days so well done to him.

Has this featured on Hawksbee and Jacobs on Talksport? Would've thought they'd have been all over this story. Also a feature on the one show using the footage from BBC NW and maybe a video call with a representative from the club.

Absolutely - he seems genuinely moved by his own story. Maybe he's had his eyes opened to how it is for "non-corporate" football, or he was already in the know and he's just a good egg.

Article found its way on to Grimsby's board

And latterly Newport, many of whom have chipped in.

Some brilliant comments and support from both sets of fans.

If we raise more than £10k can we buy him a pair of boots? Will go well with all the other statues on the pitch

My wife’s uncle was a Rochdale season ticket holder. He passed away back in 2003 and I never had the privilege of meeting him as I only met my future wife later that same year. He lived in Norden. I always hope West Ham draw Dale in a cup as our two sides have never met. I’ll spread the word about David Clough who sounds like he was a proper football fan.

Good luck with rest of the season. You play some good football.

Up to £9415 now!

The most recent donations are almost exclusively non-Dale fans too. Remarkably kind and lovely to see - well done to everyone who spread the word 👏

It is a result of the organisers, and a select number of message board users, who have painstakingly targeted the forums of almost every club in the country. There have been some notably generous sets of fans with Plymouth, Brentford and Bury springing to mind.

If you are a Dale fan and haven't yet contributed, please take a second to remember what David Clough did for this club and what he left behind. If you visit Spotland, you will undoubtedly benefit from the work that is being undertaken with money from his estate. It would be a tremendous effort to reach £10,000 before the week is out and have a statue in place before next season gets underway.

Up to 96% this morning. Be great if it got to 10k by tonight's match to be announced on ifollow. If the organisers of the fund are reading, will the target be increased again, or is 10k enough to commission what you need? Has the club confirmed the statue can be placed in Cloughie's seat at £0 cost and in compliance with HSE ground evacuation protocol?

Dale fans would have been the first to contribute to the fund so their donations are waaay down in messages and amounts given, once the story gained momentum on other message boards then the original contributors would have been pushed to the bottom,I'm guessing that the first target of £2500 would been Rochdale donations and Daleys can hold their head up high on that one

There are also many more anonymous donors or donors who do not state club allegiance.

To be fair I donated on 3rd Feb, I entered a name and didn't click anonymous as far as I remember - but mine is either not showing at all or doesn't have a name. The money has left my bank and I have a confirmation email so I know it went through okay.

I really wouldn't worry about how many Dale fans haven't donated, rather let's celebrate how many have - giving to charity doesn't have to be a competition
