The man to sort out our entire defence once and for all! Oxford fans demanding £4m/5m in the replies and claiming he wouldn't be arsed about a move to us.

Poll: And it's hi ho

Great point.

The same goes for left footed players who get accused of being “very left footed” which fails to acknowledge all right footed players are, indeed, very right footed. Strangely, there is only a small minority in professional football, all the way to the top of the game, who are comfortably two footed.

I remember realising that the great team of the early 90's had only two two-footed players - our full-backs.

My dad was always horrified at how one footed footballers were and we used to spend hours in the garden with him kicking the ball on to my left door in a vain attempt to make me two footed.

I'm still amazed by it.

I trained myself to use my left foot. I could never do a full-bloodied laces-through-the-ball shot, but I've scored a few side-footed. It's only practice, like using chopsticks or playing a musical instument. I am also amazed that professional footballers are not made to be two-footed.

Ronnie O'Sullivan taught himself to play snooker left-handed!

I can't play chopsticks or a musical instrument with either foot.

They know we will have a pocket full of Eze money ... so will try to pull our pants down!!

Fortunately it's not Uncle Tone conducting negotiations. In all seriousness, if the sums being reported for Eze are true then the board are finally beginning to show the kind of negotiating nous needed to prevent said pants from being pulled down.

On a general note, I'm not sure why most teams are comfortable playing with two right-footed centre-backs but the industry as a whole balks at the idea of two lefties.

Steady B, you'll get Comrade Bazza started.

Full Disclosure: As well as being a leftie, I'm also left-footed.

Having heard MW's recent interview, in which he made clear that there will be no spending spree when Eze is sold and having read that many clubs (including PL clubs) are looking to sign Dickie, I think we have to lower our sights. Yes, we need another centre back, but, it will be someone currently below the radar.

Nothing in the local paper up here about any approach by us.

We'll see Kernow, but I haven't read about any other bids going in for him. Lots of interest, but it looks like we're the only ones at the table which should help keep it affordable.

Lots of over-valuation from their fans, but the mention of trying to get Masterson to go to them should show their level of reality.

My son was guted when I told him about Eze but he spent the rest of yesterday laughing at the thought of signing someone called Dickie and created several songs about big dickie little dickie and other childish but funny ditties. If we don't get him he'll be more gutted than he is about Eze

Bit more from OUFC Re tomorrows game looks to me like Dickie is in the OUFC squad tomorrow for tomorrows game.

Dylan Asonganyi, another not risked in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, is also due to return to the frame.

It leaves Jamie Hanson as the only player not involved, due to a calf problem.

QPR, who have been linked with a move for U’s defender Rob Dickie, arrive without Eberechi Eze after he was sold to Palace yesterday for an initial £16million fee.

My dad exactly the same so although I was right footed I could cover at left back if necessary without having to keep coming inside on to my right foot or trying to tackle with the outside of my right foot like Ashley Cole once did with his left with hilarious consequences!

Can’t believe majority of players are one footed, I was taught at young age to kick with both feet & did so, and was stronger in the end with my left although right footed but that was a long time ago

Not in the Oxford squad for today's game

Wonder if Nick London or Andy Sinton might give a clue in their commentary?

Think Gus Ceasar with a bit of Ernie Howe and Steve Morrow thrown in for good measure! 🤣

No, but I work with a guy who’s an Oxford fan and says he’s the real deal and wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the Prem one day.
