Hill on GMR 17:44 - Jan 11 with 15417 views442Dale

Hope there’s a link online soon. He’s just gone off on one about nobody being on the same page, people living in the past and him not being Allardyce or Parkinson (whose name he couldn’t remember at first!).

It was pretty spectacular, even for him.

Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

He always used to sing born in the USA with air guitar but think that was the only line he knew as sung it over and over.

Harmless pleasant guy though

Messing up that opening line was pretty amusing.

Brilliant support with their singular chant of 'town full of paedos' every 10 minutes, like clockwork.

Funny to read everyone slating (our best ever manager) Hill now he's at Bolton! We are used to his mad interviews but he seems to have reached new depths of craziness today. I listened to him on GMR or whatever it's called with incredulity. I did however have a little smile when he implied that the Dale team today were the result of (his) 8 years of hard work!

It's enough to make you cry...

With laughter!

🤣

He is a bit of a scallion with a leeky defence, he seems to be in a bit of a pickle at Bolton!

So did they win...? I'm stunned to hear they didn't lose and weren't defeated (all within the same 90 minute period) :-S

This is what pressure can do to a man.

Who would have thought of Keith as Bolton's very own Prince Harry?

I'm almost convinced at this point that he has a form of NPD which has been massively exacerbated by the trials and tribulations of football management. Irrespective (see what I did there) of what he does or says though, I still can't hate the man

No I agree. I actually feel sorry for him. He still thinks there is a lot of stock in him based on what he did here. He needs to be very careful, he will end up at a conference side.

Some (a small number) of the Bolton "fans" towards the Sandy Lane end at the end of the game. Their behaviour was either drug-addled or half-witted idiocy. Or both. They clearly had no concept of gumption. As didn't the ageing mong who threw the ball forcefully at Aaron Wilbraham when it went out of play and smiled, laughed and claimed adulation like it was the biggest achievement he had ever attained in his pitiful life. Definitely no gumption or gorm there.

Never mind, Doncaster were worse and there were no reports of battery and golf ball incidents as you would have got from the bucket shaking dunderheads when they had a football club.

Just another day at the office eh?

Most of their fans I saw on the way up to COA were carrying plastic skiffs from the Ceme, accompanied by three separate displays of urinating in public on Sandy Lane, one 10 yards from the entrance to the car park. Classless as well as gormless

Careful. I saw FCUM fans doing that at our game with them plus doing it on people’s cars. I was told by a United sympathiser on here that I was making it up.

I was a big fan of Hilly. The joy he brought me as manager of this club is unparalleled and I’ll always remember him (and Chris Dunphy) as the man that took Dale from being a bottom half League Two side to a (semi) established League One side.

I think what he did for Dale should always be respected.

That said, it was great to see BBM and Dale getting one over on Hillcroft yesterday. I take absolutely no pleasure in Hilly’s downfall, with Dale or with Bolton. The contrast between his radio interview and that filmed interview is crazy. While some of the points Hilly makes in his radio interview are probably true, the way he delivers the message was very much all about him. I cringed when the radio interviewer gave him the opportunity to talk about Hamilton and he turned it back to talking about himself. It was car crash listening.

Hilly had the opportunity to build a team ready for life in League Two next season. A “free hit” as he’d call it. He’s making a complete mess of it just by opening his mouth in post match interviews.

I saw Dale fans do this at Accrington last season, pissing all over Accrington train station, every club has them, we can’t take the high ground here

I suspect that harsh reality hit Hilly on Saturday.
When he saw our teamsheet he probably thought Bolton were in with a chance and had probably targeted Rochdale as a game they could win.
They were awful though. Good job they had Hamilton.
I could see why Accy stuck seven past them when Bolton had a man sent off early doors.
That may well have been what caused the rant, the penny dropping that there won't be any miraculous charge up the league with the players at his disposal.

Are you sure he said that?

I read a similar quote where he said "I lost to a team which I had more than a small part in building"

Which is true actually.
