I am not sure there isn't a single player that we "wouldn't sell" if the price is high enough.

3 million quid will land him, apparently. Seems awfully cheap?

Probably the going rate for a poor ageing PL player with 18 months left on his contract

Dont sell.
Look at Newcastle last they bought and tried thier hardest to stay in the premier league. Ok they did not but they have the player now to get them back,
Then its down to business of sellimg and improving the squad

Routledge is around the lower reaches of Championship standard unfortunately.

You know what you're gonna get with him. He'll always try hard and track back defensively, but in the Prem nowadays he has no end product and his final ball always lets him down. Passing isn't what it used to be, pace isn't what it used to be, and he is not getting any better now. I don't think he'd be giving Championship defences nightmares either and isn't the type of player who would lead us to promotion (if we go down).

At 3 million I would not think twice about it. Thank him for his loyal service, then move him on and use the funds to reinvest in the squad.

But I'm not holding my breath on it, Routledge is one of Jenkins' favourites so I don't think we'll do it

Narsingh or Dan James

And on the other wing?

I accept Wayne is not setting the world alight as is most of the team but what other options are there?

Why I ask if Dan James is ready why doesnt PC at least put him on the bench....or is HJ picking the team too?

Gael Kakuta..... if we are being linked with a winger the same time as we are linked with selling an older winger.... would make sense... sell the older one.. buy a 25 year old version for similar money..

What we SHOULD do is go and sign somebody like Snodgrass, as Hull's owners are looking to sell up and are listening to offers from West Ham, Boro, and Sunderland

I cannot understand not having Dan James on the Bench for the last game.
There was no replacement winger at all, at 0:3 down he could have come on for 10-15 minutes of fame in the Prem.
Let's face it, we were not going get a draw or win and the Goal Difference damge had already been done.
We would have got a good idea of how he copes with Prem defences.

I've been a Routledge fan for years. If we can get £3m for him we need to take it. The squad needs a major overhaul and we are where we are in no small part down to our previous board allowing us to slowly stagnate and our new board not recognising/reacting to it.

If we get any offers for players past their peak, we need to consider them. They aren't going to get better and are struggling now. They need to be replaced with younger, better players of course and the owners are going to have to get used to the fact that costs money.

As for Routledge, I think he would do a fantastic job for a footballing championship side. Stick him in with a bunch of cloggers and he will be useless.
