If I were a comedian I would be aghast if the TV comany had to dub in canned laughter. They do this for three possible reasons.
A. The comdeian is not funny.
B. The viewing public need to know when to laugh.
C. Both A and B.

It's utter drivel we lasted 2 minutes, Father Ted is on, that's more like it. We did start watching the hateful 8 but realised its nearly 3 hours long, so will watch another night [Post edited 24 Dec 2015 22:37]

Actually it is Williams but changed it for his acting / TV career.
Have to say this was utter dross. If anyone on here had gone to the BBC Head of Comedy with the script they would have been thrown out. As it was DW then he couldn't fail.
I actually think he is an extremely funny comedian but just not in that show.
On a side note, did anyone see the programme about David Croft and Jimmy Perry trying to get Dad'a Army onto TV last night. It almost didn't happen but thank goodness it did. Verily cleverly written and acted. |  |

It was superb, and just to think it very nearly didn't get off the ground, still superbly funny to this day, can't wait for the remake of the film to come out. As said before Arthur Lowe, genius | |
