Just read what Gus had to say after the match - well not sure if he was watching the same game as me but think he must have shit in his eyes!!!
Now that is a much, much better performance - no a much better TEAM performance. Green and the back four were fantastic especially Caulker. Fer showed what a good signing he will be just run out of petrol at the end but that will change. Thought Phillips did really well today and was good to see some pace around the team. Sorry to see Simpson go but Isla is a much better player (sorry).
If we keep Taarabt and he decides to work hard, that along with the other players we have added to the squad will be good enough to keep up up. We need a left back (Tripper from Burnley) and a striker to replace Remy - I would go for broke and get Rhodes.
Great result today and we can all relax now for a couple of weeks knowing we are not bottom of the league.

Can't believe the difference from last week. I know spuds are a different class than Sunderland. But our team was a TEAM. Changed from boys to men in a week. Fought and won 50:50 balls. Fer, Mutch, Barton played great. Only concern is how we sat back so deep in the second half. But hey! Mid table for next few weeks, fab!
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.
