Apparently we have won the Lancashire Senior cup 3 times - most recently in 2004/5.
Its a fantastic trophy - well worth the effort!
Sorry for the pictures of people in red shirts holding it but the cup is worth the effort

3-2

Latics had a pantomime villain in Andy (Blockhead) Lockhead, a superior version of Kevin Ellison

We had David Cross just starting to make waves, he headed a first half equaliser in the Sandy from a (rare!) cross from Reg jenkins. Can't remember much else, apart from it being an entertaining game in front of a full house at Spotland

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

Does the Lancashire Senior Cup not count as a trophy? Might be a little 'un but not particularly easy to win. I saw us win that with a full strength team v Oldham back in 1970? Have we won that before or since?

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

Won Lancs senior cup once previously in 1948 (I think). Beat Blackpool final . . .and NO I wasn't there!

Ah but did you set off for the return semi final leg at Blackburn which was postponed and then go again on the Thursday night? And do you remember how awful the Blackburn pitch was?

Aye. Did all of them things. Pitch were a real glue pot. Remember Ted Burgin almost saving Fred Pickering's pen, t'ball squirming from his outstretched mitt and o'er t'line. Un Stan Hepton's 30 yarder which skidded o'er their diving keeper were it Fred Else?
