Lambert Shows He Is Going Nowhere Thursday, 21st Mar 2013 18:23
Saints striker Rickie Lambert has just signed a new deal its just been announced on everywhere bar the official club site, although its been on the twitter feed.
Super Rickie Lambert as the fans at St Mary's have dubbed him has signed a new deal to take him through to 2016 virtually committing to see his career out at the club if he is still here at the end of it.
Its good news for Saints fans who have seen rumours of his imminent transfer surface throughout the early part of the season, it has to be good news for team spirit and good news for competition for places as Lambert sets out to prove that not only can life begin at 30 in the Premier league, but that he can make up for lost time by playing their for a few seasons yet.

Great news - well deserved!! The biggest hero since Le Tissier - and in my top 5 heroes of the last 50 years! 1. Le Tissier 2. Channon 3. Paine 4. Lambert 5. Davies In with very good company. Congratulations - and many thanks for all your goals!! And a massive thanks to Alan Pardew for the most astute of signings!!

I thought that SRL stood for SIR Rickie Lambert! I have enjoyed his style of play. Not quick, but has quick feet and good control, giving himself time on the ball. Also willing to move away from the central position to find unmarked space. Looking forward to more of the same.

Just a magnificent player. Absolutely made up with this news. Worth every penny for what he has done for our club. Credit to nc. Other than the ox who has left this club that we wanted to keep duri g his tenure? Never in our history have we kept our best players like we have in the last 4 years.

Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? MK Dons Polls |
