Dale go for Coleman
Dale go for Coleman

"Sky Sports Understands" for the fourth time.

Having all but said that Dave Flitcroft and Paul Ince were on the verge of taking over as the new manager of Rochdale, after previously claiming that Beech had the job until the end of the season, this time it is Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman who is the latest to be linked with the job.

Coleman's odds tumbled since the weekend when he started Sunday morning as a 12-1 shot to become the new Dale boss, before becoming odds on in the past 24 hours.

Speculation about Coleman coming to Spotland started when he was spotted at Prenton Park on Tuesday evening for Dale's goalless draw with the perennial Friday night favourites, and it would appear that he would be a popular choice amongst the Dale support after performing wonders at Accrington.

The popular Liverpudlian is the third longest serving manager in the country, only behind Fergie and Wenger, and according to the League Managers' Association, he is the most successful manager in the country.

Of course, this is a "SSU" which far from makes this a done deal, and Coleman was linked with the job in the Summer before Steve Eyre was appointed.

I really hope this can happen, as I believe he would be an excellent appointment for Dale and pull us out of this mess.
Mr Dunphy if you can make this happen go for it.

He was my choice when Hill left but he will face a very uphill task as we need to build a proper team rather than the odds and sods from the mistakes of both SE mainly but also Beech.
If we go for Coleman then we should have a good chance of bouncing straight back if things don't improve in the short term...............

"This supporter understands"

Sky sport news haven't got a clue what goes on at Rochdale AFC !!

Obviously not enough happening for them in the transfer window and they are having a slow news day. I think they must just be reading these messageboards and pick out their favourites comments and start the rumour.

Journalism as lazy as a certain Mr Grimes !!
