Being as thick as two short planks is hardly conducive to a successful career in football management at this level. Without a plan A let alone a plan B he’s about as motivational and inspirational as a garden earth worm on Valium. Although I’m not sure if being “loaded” is relevant. Is it only people who aren’t loaded should be applying for these jobs? |

I think you’ll find that I didn’t say that. If you’ve ever come on as a sub you’ll appreciate how difficult it can be to get into the pace of a game and to make an impact isn’t easy. But not only has he done that he’s scored a winning goal. It’s a bit sad and says a lot that you preferred to mention at all that he was bundled off the ball. |

McBurnie? No thanks. Referred to ( wrongly ) as a cart horse by some Sheffield fans, he’s not the natural goalscorer that we need. He did ok here last time but he certainly wasn’t prolific. 22 in 58 games is nothing to get excited about and yet he’s not got anywhere near that at his other clubs. His wage demands might well be too much anyway hopefully. |

A very good Swansea City performance. Individually and collectively we were at a decent level. And tactically too. Within team sport, when most or all of your players are on song as they were today you will usually win. And it firmly puts to bed any nonsense only a few days ago about “ having to win to avoid a revolt “ or something along those lines. Congratulations to LW and all involved. Luke continues to do a fine job. It’s so easy to reflect negatively after a defeat . To be wise after the event. If only we had done this or that….. 10th place is better than par for us at the moment. Please remember this. And for the gloom and doom merchants out there try to take some positivity and joy from these games. It might help you to start enjoying things a bit more. |

But of a silly title unless it’s tongue in cheek We are doing ok. Mid table is a decent return. Of course losing to Hull was disappointing but par for us this season based on budget and where we stand as a club is around 13-16th. These are two tough games as all are in this league. |

A former manager Russell Martin gets sacked. That’s football and it happens. He’s handled the pressure quite well and of course we all know that big bucks will considerably soften the blow. But some of the childish jealous petty remarks on here are beyond belief. Even comments that bring his partner into it. Remarks about her appearance as well. How incredibly sad and shallow some people are. Get a grip chaps. Football manager loses job. It happens. Why the hatred? |

You can’t of course but I’d suggest that the staff at Plymouth are not doing their jobs properly. There will or should be constant monitoring and assessment by staff of player fitness levels and that includes weight and body fat. This is not the Dog & Duck Pub team. Plymouth and Rooney need to be offering a detailed explanation as a fit and firing Obafemi can keep them in the Championship. |
| Forum Reply | Obafemi's Weight Gain at 21:26 12 Dec 2024
Obafemi is a disgrace to allow himself to pile the pounds to that extent although with clubs top heavy now with a back room staff that includes coaches, sports scientists, performance analysts as well as team managers and assistants Im not sure how it’s been allowed to happen at Plymouth. What condition was he in when he got there on loan as you’d like to think that Plymouth wouldn’t have signed him (on loan) if he wasn’t fit enough. |

Best to take all of his comments with a very large pinch of salt. He’s either on a permanent wind up Or completely clueless. Or both. |

The league table I looked at shows that Plymouth are usually a tough nut to crack at their own ground with a home record that matches or is better than the likes of Norwich Middlesbrough West Bromwich Albion Blackburn etc all top half of the table clubs. And as it’s the Championship anything can happen. Comments like “ show no mercy “ and “ go for the jugular “ just show a complete lack of understanding. It’s winnable of course but it’s loosable too if that’s a word 😃. |

Using your reasoning and logic, a porter and nurse would be in the same salary as the surgeon in an operating theatre. |

A good Swans performance today in very difficult conditions and a point away from home in the Championship is always commendable especially at a club who were in the Premier League only six months ago. Dominated goal attempts which is not easy away from home but disappointing to have not scored one or two more given some of the good work that went into creating the openings. We can all see where we need to be stronger which is up front. We look good enough to finish mid table hopefully though which will be a decent enough return. |

“ All first teamers should be on the same pay but with individual bonuses “ On what planet exactly would you expect that crazy notion to work? |
| Forum Reply | Portsmouth Matchday Prog: The Trust at 15:12 4 Dec 2024
Indeed. They were not a good fit for our club for many well documented reasons and history has now shown that to be the case. Jenkins can take the blame. I still can’t believe he got away with it. And not only him. |

“ Parachute Money “ For relegated Premier league clubs. You’ve omitted that. It helps clubs consolidate in the lower division and many are therefore equipped to go straight back up. We weren’t and still aren’t. They were hopeless of that there is no doubt. |
| Forum Reply | Time to move Key? at 19:13 28 Nov 2024
Key needs to concentrate on his defensive positioning and spacial awareness. There are too msny occasions where he is out of position. The Leeds game being a good example. In contrast he’s got an outstanding ability to get forward and quickly. With some work on his positional sense he could make Angel Rangel Mk2 as he’s talented enough albeit it’s a bit raw as it was initially with Angel when he switched from his right midfield role. |
