And the manager won’t even change the formation when we’re so short up front, literally in every sense. Go 3-5-2 so at least you’ve got numbers in midfield, and someone to help whatever midget has been handed the poison chalice centre forward position. WTF is Dembele to do on his own up there, much like Smyth before him? Just want this season to end, like the three before it. Shambles. |

Not even sure there’s as many as two. The ones that masquerade as centre forwards.. Frey - always injured Celar - shit and injured Kolli - always injured and clearly doesn’t want to be here Lloyd - it’s football Jim but not as we know it. The good run left the board thinking we could scrape through this season but that’s not a given. The manager is sounding like he’s ready to throw the towel in. It’s a fckin mess. |

‘You put Portsmouth v Leeds on ITV at noon on a Sunday you get 1.5m people watching without even breaking a sweat’. Trouble is, will ITV break even? Much as I hate Sky, and with a passion, they dole out nigh on £200m on the Championship alone and I can’t see ITV doing that. Not least they’ve had a crack at it before and the project went belly up. |

I’m not so sure. We’ve had two uninterrupted weeks on our state of the art training ground and would imagine we’ve removed any deficiencies, honing to perfection, the wingers long throw onto the right backs head. 48 points and safety. |

It certainly feels better, I’m not sure I can go as far as ‘good’. What I am finding good is two week international breaks, neigh three weeks when the first game back is some unvisitable hell hole invariably positioned a good 100 miles from HQ. Even better than good these days is the three month gap between this season and next season, dreaming about the arrival of an influx of better players decked in blue and white hoops at the first home game, that really feels good. And then it all tends to become less than good. |

Unlike Spring under the previous Tory government, this Spring we only need one win to stay up. |

One win and seven low scoring losses will see us home. Not sure where that win will come from but, if needs must, Sunderland will be coasting by the last game. |

The old bill went above and beyond to get this fella into Court yet once again he’s walked away smiling. Barton must think he can commit any act of violence he wants, what a message it sends to wife beaters around the country. |

Feels like a missed opportunity as this is a particularly weak Division. Fair to say the amount of injuries have decimated us, but even with a fully fit squad the front four wouldn’t scare any opposition. That’s been our major problem for years and we never get anywhere near solving it. Our pre season preparation has stank for some time, it’s no wonder we start bad and the injuries pile up. I like Marti and think he gets the best out of most of the players, but he’s set on a particular style of play that requires far better players than we, or indeed this league, possess. There’s a gap between idealism and realism that the manager needs to come to terms with. |

We’re not playing them again are we? I’m all for us playing two teams on the same night, we’d qualify even quicker and get rid of half the international breaks. |

They’ve been getting good crowds for years, season tickets at circa a tenner a game which has kept a core support through long bleak periods. Good luck to them, the club deserve some success. |

England Albania on 3, Red Nose rubbish on 1. Thankfully the wife had recorded a film, The Outfit, which was a wonder to watch. Let me know when the World Cup finals start and I’ll have a look. |
