Both excellent finishes. The first, one touch and got his shot away.

The second he coolly finished, quite remarkable baring in mind what he has been through the past few months, the penalty miss. All that Marti encouragement and love helping as well.

Huge Win
at 22:34 27 Nov 2024

As they said on the Comms, better to have the points.

Plenty of merriment, whooping and fist punching in the rbee household tonight. Two exquisite finishes from Celar, Nardi on top form. Shout out to Ashby as well who seemed to point to Celar telling him where to go before playing that sublime ball over the top.

Great team effort though, almost the perfect away performance in the first half, second half Cardiff were a little stronger but we caught them on the break as they pushed forward. Wonderful celebrations with the travelling R's at the end.

We won't get carried away with one win but it's good to be away again on Saturday where hopefully we shall see a similar performance. As we know there are plenty of weak teams in this division and we need to take these opportunities like tonight to put points on the board.

A little harsh as plenty of our shots do not go over the bar but are struck directly at the keeper.

It was very funny, literally everyone on the bench cracking up. I guess it helped knowing that the three points were in the bag.

So many memories in one post.

I do remember watching the game on Sky. I would struggle to remember another meaningful contribution from Nick Ward although he did score a goal for us but I can't remember it.

I remember that offside trap as well because straight afterwards the Sky cameras cut to the Rangers bench who were all roaring with laughter.

Cookie and Blackstock were a great combination.

Although not successful I did quite like Gregory as a manager.

Ray Jones, Southampton away, Rest in Peace young man.

How does a head coach TRY to leave? You resign and walk out the door.

Anyway, Christian Nourry is in Azerbaijan scouting strikers and local cheeses.

Of course, obvious substitutions removing our two ineffectual players which helped build the momentum I was talking about. Then ten minutes later Smythe and a little later Field were removed which I thought lost us some momentum.

Someone suggested Smythe was injured though lets hope that isn't the case with Field as well. I guess we will find out on Wednesday night.

I thought we lost a bit of momentum when Field and Smythe went off especially when Saito was the one that looked knackered. Strange substitutions.

David Pleat was on Talksport earlier this week and recruitment was a subject discussed. David said that most clubs are dismissing Scouts these days and are using and relying on stats and analytics a lot more.

As a young guy you can imagine Christian Nourry embracing technology and taking a more modern approach to player recruitment.

Hopefully Nourry will now have a rethink on that. The club could have given someone 300 quid and a Eurostar ticket to travel to Antwerp to actually watch Madsen play and we might have avoided a 4 million Championship dud.

Injury Updates

Indeed which is why I listed the predicted come back games, waiting for JCS is the one that really hurts.

We have to hope that the slightly improved Leeds performance continues on Saturday although we never seem to do well after the International breaks.

Good to see the cavalry arriving in dribs and drabs. The two we really need are Colback and JCS. Colback will be back for Watford and Frey Norwich. JCS should be back for Bristol City, six games away.

Unfortunately, those returning will only be playing around 60 minutes initially and we have to really hope that the future injury list is miniscule. With full availability Marti has the opportunity to recreate last season’s great escape.

Rest In Peace John Prescott and Vic Flick

Vic was a session musician who played on hundreds of records including the original James Bond theme. Here is a fun five minutes of Vic selling his guitar on Pawn Stars.

Now it ´s started, Gregory Vignal
at 23:48 12 Nov 2024

If there is any truth in this Vignal story then it's taking the club up another level of lunacy.

It's almost as if this guy has cheated a career out of professional football averaging 12.23 appearances a season over 13 years for 14 different clubs.

His subsequent career in coaching and management is similarly impressive.

He holds a UEFA Pro Licence, so what? People study law for six years and qualify but that doesn't make them a great lawyer and they certainly wouldn't walk in to a top job at virtually the beginning of their careers.

Our owners are naive in football matters but presumably not stupid. The article photograph shows Vignal playing in a Liverpool Legends match and I bet most people standing on the Kop wouldn't have a clue who he was, 11 appearances ten years ago.

Dear Ruben and Co if your football minded CEO is putting this guy's name in front of you then you really should be removing him rather than gambling the clubs future on a Head Coach rookie.

What we need is better players
at 00:12 11 Nov 2024

Without the injuries, especially to Colback and JCS, then we are a 16th placed team.

When the injured players return I fully expect our form and results to improve.

One slight little problem is these players remaining fit throughout the remainder of the season.

At 1-0 and us going forward in the latter stages of the game I could hear the Elland Road crowd getting restless on the stream.

We really should have taken one of our chances but the way we defended for the second goal, as you say, we were destined to lose.

Marti is not the manager but the Head Coach. I notice that Coventry have said that they will be recruiting a new Head Coach rather than manager.

Head coach suggests less input in to player recruitment, work with what you are given. I guess football is changing, evolving but in my world I don't see anything other than a Head Coach/manager having the final word in signing a player to avoid any potential personality clash for starters.

Do players have the same respect for Head Coaches as they do managers or do they head to the football minded CEO and complain about the coaching?
