The club trying to extend the team's profile. The signing session at the Westfield, Yang was one of the players present. He is only going to play for us for not much more than a dozen games, but the club know what they are doing. So whilst he is here, last few seats in the stadium could well be filled by South Koreans in their entirety. I have no issues with the signing. More links between us and Spurs as their first point of call for loans and increased revenue for a short period added to having a decent player on our books, even if only for a short period of time. Seeing Chair Saito and Yang combining together, could be a very enjoyable watch for a few months !! [Post edited 20 Feb 8:44]

There are always a few signings that simply don't work out at all, for unknown reasons to Joe Public. This one is up there. We have Madsen and Celar that have big time struggled so far and it's not been working, but at least both have got out onto the pitch and both have scored a couple of goals each. If there is no other way than to cut ties and pay off his contract, then that's what I feel the solution is. I doubt we could loan him out again. Even Vauxhall Motors would say " No Thanks" !!! |

Was meaning by thread title - any that can play up top on their own or in a two. Ie Kolli / Lloyd not necessarily number nines but can be played there. As obviously Celar, Frey and Kelman [Post edited 19 Feb 17:01]

 | Forum Thread | Centre Forwards / Wide Attackers - next Season at 16:12 19 Feb 2025
Currently we could potentially choose from 5 Players who are under our employment at the moment, who could be the man up top in our team. Said wide attackers, simply because Kelman and Kolli, not necessarily number nines. But yes, after debating elsewhere on here. Wondered what others thought. So currently we could have next season. Celar Frey Kolli Lloyd Kelman Out of these five, how many would you want here next season and who would you choose to move on / let go. I think there could be two to be let go out of these five. And we will bring in one new signing. What are others thoughts on this ?? [Post edited 19 Feb 16:15]

11:11 Used to seem when I looked at my clock and the time was 11:11, I was weirdly always very calm. The Versailles Peace Treaty at the end of the First World War, Signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. QPR Won 11 Drawn 11 Lost 11 and played the game with a starting 11 strong team. Binary Symmetrical Heaven !! No need for Non Binary here... [Post edited 19 Feb 16:03]

You are basing your entire argument on he could be the next Conor Washington. There are extremes both ways. Vardy Toney and way back Les himself. Mid twenties onwards they all had very low level experience only. Wasn't saying it's certain Charlie will perform, but there are good signs and it's low risk whereas Celar is unsettled, high risk and expensive. I can't see there is anything that you have said anything other than you don't want to sign Conor Washington mark two, who cost about £4 million. Charlie would be free. That's like saying we will never sign anyone who is proven at a lower level ever. We did this just this season, with getting many in from weak leagues around Europe, of which several have adjusted to the higher level. Celar was one of those himself, but has been a disaster so far. You can't know with any one signing whether it's going to work, ahead of the purchase. Smyth improved and we bought him in. I will leave it there. [Post edited 19 Feb 15:52]

You saying Celar has shown he can score at this level. Beg to differ. He has only scored two goals in one game. I am not judging Charlie on previous seasons. This season he has improved. So his goal to game ratio is irrelevant. It's how he is currently that is more important. I guess you did not watch the Orients game against Man City. He stretched their defence time after time and also held the ball up well also and made some decent challenges also.He has improved. Celar has shown nothing apart from two games. Doesn't hold up the ball. Doesn't press at all. Runs away from the ball at times. Doesn't tackle. On past seasons yes would get rid of Kelman but football is about how a player is performing now. This season is a lot different. Have you seen Charlie's recent games and goals. There is some impressive performances there. But Celar has proved nothing currently and would be three times more expensive in the long run. Yes Kelman is unproven at this level, but it's like if Kelman / Celar fighting for number three centre forward position in the squad, you would want the one with the better all round game with the likelihood of scoring more goals and being the cheaper option and to take Kelman on a one year contract with an option to extend who if not proven can sell and loan to league one, there is no risk there. Celar would be much more expensive and I very much doubt he will ever be number one or two choice. A decent sale a la Armstrong i feel is the way to go. But if Celar gets chances the rest of the season and burns up the league, then all well and good - can't see that happening, but love to be proven wrong. Money is another element in this decision for me too. [Post edited 19 Feb 14:38]

Celar apart from one game has shown absolutely nothing for us. Think he is couple years older too. Around 80% of his goals are in the Swiss league, which would be likely on level with league one at best. Yes he is an international centre forward. 17 appearances and zero goals. 19 appearances for ourselves - just 2 goals in one game and he contributes nothing else. Hasn't even looked like he was trying at all. No press and ran away from the ball. Yes he has had some success elsewhere and we have had top internationals here with great records who did nothing here. And why do we suddenly think that after half a season showing nothing at all, apart from two goals in one game, he contributes nothing else on the pitch. Don't think he is able to adjust to our league and country. Kelman had shown nothing until this season but is contributing in many different ways at Orient now. Was very impressive against a strong Man City team and is really picking up now. It was his all round play I was impressed by. He has 20 odd appearance level for United States. A far better footballing mation than Slovenia / Slovakia (can't remember which - sorry). 17 appearances for a second rate footballing nation and zero goals. If we could get rid of Celar for a reasonable fee, yes absolutely would have Kelman in his place. Charlie is proving something this season, definitely better. Celar is likely to be earning a lot more than Kelman and we have to best balance the books, give Charlie a year, if it's really not working, we can get him league one loan in January with option to buy, so he would be very cheap. No fee to pat to extend his contract, but give the guy a chance I say. So far what is it in Celar that you think offers the all round package of the man, ie more expensive by far, seems really struggle in our team, his game is not at all showing with our style of play and also looks like sometimes he hides from the ball and unless he scores a few goals, goes into hiding. If we can get a decent amount of money from someone elsewhere, Kelman is streets ahead of Celar for me. What is it about Celar that you think is decent. 19 games and only scored in one. 17 caps. Zero goals. Only ever scored in Switzerland. For me , Kelman is having a fine season. Yes there are the Connor Washington's around from league one , but not all league one players fail. He is nowhere near the level of Ivan Toney but he was in league one until late in his career. And he would cost nothing. But yes crack on. Keep Celar and Get rid of Charlie for nothing. He didn't scored v Man City but was a presence. And keeps hitting the net regularly now - in only one league down. We have to give this guy a chance. For me, we could lose Frey. Celar more than likely won't progress and then we have Alfie who is very raw and Kolli who could be the main man, but yet to have a proper run. Would have Kelman at least at three in that list of five. Keep going Charlie. This is why we loan players out. It worked with Eze and Chair. A different player but it would be stupid IMHO to get rid Deserves a chance with ourselves now. The boy is doing good. [Post edited 19 Feb 8:36]

 | Forum Reply | Neil Warnock on Sky as a pundit for Leeds/ Sunderland at 16:25 18 Feb 2025
Agree I can't understand the dislike for Warnock from Rangers fans. Hard to understand what would make some people happy then as Warnock presided over our best season since maybe the 90s team or even to way back to the mid 70s to early 80s. When he came here, I wasn't happy. Seemed to fight referees over a paper bag. But he won me over as he is a successful man with an amount of charm and wit. The whinging northerner is part of his approach to the job. Maybe some of the ones moaning, had something in common with guys behind me who constantly moaned that the games were not value for money in the taraabt season - comments made when we were ten points clear in first place - very strange in my eyes. People can have differing opinions but the dislike of Warnock by QPR fans is a bit nuts for me. [Post edited 18 Feb 16:43]

Its incredible how well trained these dogs are. As a kid, my parents moved almost opposite, a guide dogs for the blind centre that often featured on the legend that was Blue Peter. Often saw dogs and trainers walking down the road. Now they train assistance dogs for people suffering from a variety of health issues and disabilities. Quite often work helping people who suffer from severe anxieties to live as normal a life as is possible. Am certain , there will be wheels in motion to match Dave Thomas up with a suitable new guide dog. Makes one feel grateful though in a back handed way - the gift of sight is a wonderful thing that we all completely take for granted!! |

I said "tongue in cheek" about being cancelled. Clearly shown by emoji. I can't deal with an abusive reply. We are all fans of the same team. If you can't be polite to ourselves, I am concerned how you speak to people that you dislike. It's been said many many times before but sometimes chap you really do need to rein things in, in how you speak to others on here. You come across as unpleasant. I don't have anyone on ignore here, but sadly I have to with yourself. You are ruining a very decent forum with consistent and nasty abuse to anyone that disagrees with you. For you, it's always someone else's fault. You won't change with your abuse to others but you really really should because it's tiresome. Myself personally, am too old for nonsense, but i do hope one day, the penny drops. Yes we all occasionally clash but generally around opinions, not just unsolicited name calling and general nastiness. You cant see this but you are ruining the vibe of the whole forum.
