I think you might need Fb for these. Just shows he's the right sort, not so much about him as a footballer but obviously highly regarded at a young age. The first link is about his involvement in the London youth games committee at U14 level.

Yes, 20 seems now the upper age limit to break into the first team squad.

That explains it. I was thinking it's usually the law that managers get sacked just before or after playing us . This sort of counts.

Win 5-0 .

Three goals from Petrie (anyone know anything about him) and two from Sutton.

In my defence, I didn't know you were from the fair country.

So enjoyable as a pundit. He just loves the game so much.

Thanks Myke. I'm not alone in fairness. Brian has to be the nicest person in Ireland let alone this forum! Then there's Dorse, Konk, Clive (despite extreme provocation) and a host of others who can be passionate without it crossing a line.

The best posters see the funny side as well as being knowledgeable.

Viktor Johansson, Stoke GK. He's saved around 15 shots more than expected - way ahead of anyone else.

Tandanga so good for Millwall.

Chakvetadze very good too.

Rumours about Marti going
at 23:00 16 Feb 2025

Please fill your boots here. I intend to hide my own thread.

Clickbaits; ITK; rumours from other forums (fora?); mad speculating. All welcome here.

Please can we not infect Every. Other. Thread.

Any other club executives on here: don't touch him with a bargepole. He's crap.

Exactly. Electric in the ground. Nice for us to enjoy that kind of entertainment sometimes.

We also gave a rest to the overworked Smyth, won a few extra fans, filled the ground and enhanced our credentials as a club you want to send your best young players on loan to.

All things that are positive in my view; even the parachute clubs rely on loans, no reason why we should be above that.

Yeah Frey worked his nuts off and has to play permanently in Sumo stance as he always has a defender hanging off him.

Many apologies. Should've picked it up from the Chair's been crap this season. Duh!

Sorry. Been too many weird criticisms on here today.

That'd why Marti is a good manager and you...aren't. Part of getting a good position in the league is squad spirit. Players see how he treats everyone, not just those playing well currently. Sure he can be ruthless if you're not at the level but he always gives people chances to improve things, hence our fantastic team spirit.

I agree with all of this. It was the most confident and complete performance from Chair this season, and I wouldn't even have started him as I thought he looked knackered after Coventry, but he looked almost unplayable last night at times. Also agree the players you mentioned were excellent.

What a joy for our fans who deserve it after supporting the team through a terrible early start.

Not sure I'd start Chair for this one. He was running on fumes at the end of the Cov match. Apparently Derby can't play through the middle but have decent CBs. Wouldn't risk leaving Paal isolated on the left as Chair doesn't currently track back. Morgan moves the ball quicker so prefer him against a resolute defence.

1-0 late goal for us. Debut goal from Yang.

John Eustace - Blackburn to Derby
at 07:57 11 Feb 2025

He's not just someone who can only write putting out the cones on his CV either. He's done the hard yards too. He's been a National League manager, guiding Kidderminster to the play offs. He's been Assistant/first team coach to several managers, including moonliighting for Republic of Ireland at the time as doing that same role of Assistant Manager for us.

He took over a struggling Birmingham side and led them to their highest points total for years and then guided a struggling Blackburn side to safety. He also had both the latter teams in improbable play off positions. He's got more credibility than many of the marqee names that keep getting jobs.

We should have a generic thread for the Marti might leave posts. With no evidence whatsoever he is leaving they are becoming a bit tedious.
