No better owner is coming in the middle of this season, no better manager is coming here before the end of the season and what better players would want to come here right now?
So, the best thing we can do is be the best supporters we can be under these difficult circumstances. At least we can save some pride that way and show potential new owners, managers and players as well as the current ones that this is a fanbase worth fighting for.
A toxic atmosphere, boycotts etc are just going to have the opposite effect. We got what we asked for when Martin was sacked and we were reasonably happy with his replacement. In fact I can also remember being pleased when Sport Republic took over and there were loads of positive comments when they started bringing the new players here.
It hasn't worked out. I'm sure the owners, managers and players have suffered more than we have over it. Imagine how Juric feels right now and how players like Aaron Ramsdale must feel. This is having a devastating impact on their careers. None of them wanted this to happen.
I've been impressed by our support so far this season. That, along with the emergence of Dibling and the arrival of Ramsdale, has been one of the few good things about this season. So, let's all give it our best shot until the end of the season. That's the time when changes can take place. [Post edited 5 Jan 1:03]

I think that's the first time I've seen 12 substitutes play in a league game at St Mary's. Has it happened there before?
Theirs were better than ours. They could even bring on a top class sub goalkeeper. |

At the rate they're selling, it won't be far off capacity. A good result against Spurs would probably see it sell out. All of our remaining league games look like selling out anyway.
At the rate the Southampton area's population is increasing, the demand for tickets will continue to grow in the long-term, regardless of results. Of course, that's the same for most of the country, which is why so many clubs are building bigger stadiums.
The population inside the city limits has increased by more than 30,000 since St Mary's was built, and in the surrounding area by far more. So, like the change in the setup and the safe standing at St Mary's, this is inevitably going to happen whether saints fan '73 likes it or not:

Player ratings for both teams used to be a regular, well-presented feature on this site. Even when they do appear nowadays, they're presented as being on the Swansea site, and for one team's players only. [Post edited 5 Dec 2024 11:29]
