| News Comment | How Many Points Do Southampton Need For Promotion at 11:19:13
AngrellaSFC agree withe the exception of are we good enough. IMO yes we are, but in reality do we want to be cos if we go up one hell of an overhaul would be needed just to survive. Probably best just missing out and improving next season ! |
| News Comment | Southampton V AZ Alkmaar The Verdict at 08:50:33
Saidou I beg to differ, Under Puel we finished 8th in the Premier League and reached a League cup final which we only lost due to debatable refereeing decisions. Oh but it was not good enough for the moaning Minnie’s who hounded the board to sack him. You got the rewards with a downwards spiral. Back RM and his tactics and we may just turn this club around again. |
| News Comment | Saints Have To Storm The Palace On Saturday at 08:47:38
Sorry Nick but if we replicate that we are down, a draw is not good enough now. We have to bet Palace, Bournemouth, Fulham and Forest just to have any hope. Oh by the way it out in our own hands anymore 🤷â€â™‚ï¸ |
| News Comment | Southampton Sack Nathan Jones at 07:33:09
IMHO we are as good as down, the players like and respect Selles, so we may as well go with him until the season end at least to see if he can cut it. If he does well problem solved, if he struggles then we have the close season to bring in what’s needed to get us back up. |
| News Comment | Southampton Sack Nathan Jones at 07:29:18
Kenis Saints did not have a recall option with regards to Stephens, They did ask but Bournemouth said No. With regards to Tella we have so many similar players in the squad so he would not of got game time so better off staying put and playing regular football. |
| News Comment | Southampton Transfer Links Mainly In Strong Areas at 08:53:48
Last 3 games scored twice in each, maybe our style is coming through and that is that it is and will be players arriving in around the box will score the majority of goals. |
| News Comment | Watt View - Fantastic win but Jones need to focus on football at 11:05:04
I believe that he has handled himself with dignity. Yes he has spoken about the criticism because he is being journalists are constantly questioning him on it. He has stated that he understands some of it ( ie from the fans ) he has also stated he does not understand why non league managers are knocking him and he is quite right. He has also gone on record as saying give him time and he knows he will change things which over the last two games seem to be so. Fans, myself included need to back him, the players and the club wholeheartedly especially during the game if we want to get out of the mire we are presently in. Just my opinion but spending lots of money to go and sing anti productive negative songs is not helping. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Manchester City The Verdict at 11:49:38
Personally I don’t think we played to badly against a city side that smashes everyone. But hey Nick how times and the Ugly Inside have changed. Forgive me but I recall this site when it all started with a paper mag and a very much younger anti Branfoot group who organized rebellious groups outside the entrance to the dell demanding Branfoot out, often leading to outrageous behavior and arrests. Yet know we seem to want to put down any supporter who dare to criticise RH on social media and not want them to attend games to voice opinion, seems a tad hypocritical to me. Ps I for one see both sides of the picture here with RH, but he just can not keep on putting too little and often too late little runs of wins together to survive just to go back to the long droughts of utter crap. He needs to go before the World Cup break to give the successor time to implant his ideas before the restart, but hey a lot wanted Puel out just because he did not entertain and look how that never worked. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Everton The Verdict at 12:44:26
A M8 of mine said Haaland would never score 40 goals this season, well I can see him getting 9 alone next week. We need to sort tactics out, missing Lavia big style and Romeu experience. JWP is playing too deep therefore doing nothing other than back/sideways passing. My belief is he should play Diallo in front of the back 4 and behind JWP and S Armstrong in the middle then 3 up front or two deeper behind the lone central striker away from home. This would allow our marauding fullbacks to get forward with the security of Diallo covering the gaps left as that is where we are constantly picked off. Ralph has till the World Cup to sort it or he has to go. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Aston Villa The Verdict at 17:28:11
Sorry Nick, not read any reply’s or post the start was enough. It was not a better performance than last season. Last season we tried, this time we did not even try. Worst effort I have watched probably ever by our players. They need to repay the travelling fans. A Total Disgrace. |
| News Comment | Klopp See's Southampton Centre Back As Virgil Van Dijk Successor At Anfield. at 14:48:52
IanRC- personally I feel ABK is better at this stage in his Saints career than VVD was who had, as Nick states, a lot more experience. I rate him and totally agree he will be circa £100M easy in a couple of seasons at this rate, as a club we have to ensure we keep him long enough to reach this peak and not do a spqr deal just to get profit. |
