| Forum Reply | So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? at 00:13 14 Jan 2025
I felt this was a perfectly valid question and whilst lots of ideas are left field or tongue in cheek, it shows we have an intelligent readership on here who are happy to express their views on the subject. Hopefully, assuming Williams goes soon, the board will have a long list of names ready to approach |

What about him ? Never managed or coached as far as I know. Does he even have the badges ? Look at several brilliant players ( Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Wayne Rooney) who have failed in management Wood Ashley cut the mustard ? Not sure myself but that is surely from left field |

Assuming Williams time is short with us, who would you like to see as a replacement ? Personally I would be happy to see a proven manager like Ian Holloway come in. His Blackpool team were one of the most entertaining opposition teams I have seen at the stadium If we are to continue being a mid table team, at least let's start enjoying it |

What more can he say ? It is either hoping to get deals done ( whilst any work goes on behind closed doors ) or "Here is our new signing" However we all rate him, there is little else he can say surely ? |

Not sure it will be fairer, there will I feel still be "mini leagues" with have and have nots in each division Most worrying thing is we are rapidly becoming one of the " have nots" |

Like many, cup final day used to be something I relished growing up. Now I dont even know who is in the final half the time, let alone watch it |

Exactly A win next week (I don't see it but just for the hell of it say we do ) is just papering over the seismic cracks. Sadly we need a whole reset whatever happens next game Yesterday was embarrassing beyond belief Well done to the travelling Jack's. Shame the team didn't turn up with the same commitment and desire as you guys |
| Forum Reply | The Harry darling rumours begin 😡 at 08:56 7 Jan 2025
Keith says he was offered about £12.5 k a week ( which I believe ) Makes Res's £65k per week sound ridiculous ( which of course it is ) |

Yet taking into account the fact that our top 13 / 14 whatever is what we have, some are happy to cut adrift a player who is in excellent form and out of contract through no fault of his own ! Unbelievable Jeff !! |
| Forum Reply | There is no economic logic in keeping Darling. at 03:01 7 Jan 2025
So a player's contract runs down through nofault of his own, continues to play out of his skin and yet you would cut him adrift just to show him the errors of his ways? In spite of the obvious danger that would pose to the team over the next 1/2 season ? That is just baffling |

Good read as always Keith. No reason for Darling to rush into a deal now as he will, as you said in the article, be a free agent in the summer and be able to get a better deal for himself. In the meantime surely it is clear to any level headed Swans fan that if he is sold now, we will be much poorer and our paper thin squad will struggle |

If we lose Darling and fail to replace him then relegation is a very real threat Raynes |

Seems like it is silly season Not only on the managerial front, but also in regards to the retaining or otherwise of certain players ( in particular Harry Darling ) It seems a very small minority think we can do without Darling and / or replace him with an unknown quantity in Low from Wycombe I hope Low comes but should be in addition to Darling not instead of. There has also been some crazy speculation on the cost of keeping Darling as opposed to selling him and risking a relegation battle with a depleted squad. Monge tui Rodney ! |

Any player can be replaced. Christie can replace him. Being an adequate replacement is a totally different matter though |

Not confusing anything and no need to be rude, smarmy and arrogant We have no strength in depth. Take away Franco, Darling, Cullen, and Cabango from our first choice eleven and the result will be a Portsmouth style result every game. If you could not see how dominant WBA were yesterday and how much we had Darling to thank yesterday for his part then maybe you are watching a different game from most of us. Take Darling out of that defence yesterday and you honestly believe we would have drawn ? |

I wish I shared your faith. However two wins that rather papered over the cracks against poor sides, a shocking defeat against an ordinary Portsmouth side followed by a fortunate draw against a team whom, had we not had Darling in defence would have handed us another drubbing suggests otherwise. We are down to the bare bones now. Take any more quality out of that side be it through transfers, injuries or loss of form , and we could well be in a relegation dogfight |
