Swansea City : Luke Williams linked to West Brom job
at 11:55 30 Dec 2024

It’s the disruption & negativity that will affect the squad & the club as a whole. He has spent a lot of time developing relationships with a lot of players brought in from abroad, players signing new contracts etc. if he were to go all that work is wasted & it’s start again with new methods, different playing style, motivational relationships & so on

As a coach he is pretty average 18 wins in 48 games, 37% win average for us. I don’t see why WBA would want him based on his performance with us. His response to questions asked are disappointing to say the least

Low bid rejected : The Swans will press on plus Kwame Poku

It would be good to get 1 or 2 signings over the line early in the window for a change. I wouldn’t put my mortgage on it. Difficult time to get any club to release players who are playing regularly especially if they are in with a shout of play offs or at risk of relegation

Swansea City v Luton Town : Match day thread GAME DAY !

At the ground I thought it looked more like 17000 even with the poor turnout from Luton - the club did well to fill so many of the south stand seats that have been empty most of the season

Swansea City must no longer gather bit part players for the sake of it

Nice to read some honesty on the state of the squad & the legacy left by the departed ones. Also good to see so many posters agreeing instead of the usual sniping (maybe because of who wrote this piece) …. I don’t see us troubling the play off mix. Get rid of the loans who do not improve the squad. None of them do, despite what LW says about MPH.

The most important thing is to have a better second half to the season than the first half & to finish strong to set up some confidence for next season

Swans in a first half performance of absolute perfection
at 08:17 27 Dec 2024

Unfortunately Grimes gets a lot of stick for how he is perceived to be as a captain & seems to be the brunt of criticism when we have an off day. He was outstanding yesterday.

The head coach staying away from the dressing room before the match & at half time seems just bizarre to me. His post match interview also very strange. I found his ramblings about being ‘careful with the ball’ & ‘having players close to the ball when we lose possession’ all a bit uninspiring after such a performance. He should have been purring after a 3-0 win & the style of the first half dominance. It kind of sums him up, more than a little uninspiring. Maybe he should leave the pre-match team talk to someone else every match

I wonder how much this had something to with our first half performance … ?

He left us a better player than when he arrived. Not convinced he is what we need - disappointed that we have not introduced our own academy players. I can’t see LW taking chance on them when we are looking down the league at results below us every week

If there is truth that Leeds are in for him, he’s as good as gone whether they go up or not. Any fee paid in January will be minimal

Embarrassing & pathetic are just two of the words to sum up the lack of commitment from the previous owners. He should have been made a better offer with captaincy before the end of last season

Paterson may not have been fast. He had quick feet, was tricky to defend against, good eye for goal and 2 good feet. Shame about his attitude. We haven’t replaced his goals though & I don’t think Grimes is the answer either, just my opinion

Bournemouth are 5th in the league tonight, can’t see how it gets any better. His stock is high & a big club will be in for him, just a matter of time, hope he makes the right choice

Quality is top notch no doubt (mainly Liverpool). Spurs whole gameplan is bordering on football suicide. Liverpool could have scored 10 & there still 30 minutes to play !!

Interesting suggestion but it’s never gonna happen. Grimes is too slow to play further forward. Playing Fulton at all makes me feel nauseous. He is even more negative than Grimes. Starting him in a match that we should be targeting as a win would really be scraping the barrel even with the lack of squad depth that we have

Innit just!! No faffing about - nearly every pass forward & pace all over the pitch. Simple stuff mostly. A joy to watch it is

Hull City v Swansea City : Match day thread
at 15:44 21 Dec 2024

Last week LW said that we were nowhere near good enough to get close to the top 6. This week he says that we lost to the better side, bottom of the league Hull City.

He looked lost for words in his interview for the official site. He’s wayyy out of his depth. We may have a poor squad but the story was written as soon as he picked Fulton & Grimes in the starting eleven. Clueless.

I would ask what are the odds on job swap with Gary O’Neil in the manager merry-go-round but it would probably impact severance payments too much

Jason Cohen pays for Swansea City supporters' £900 taxi to Luton Town ...

Think your memory is a bit misty on this one. Clement dug us out of the hole that Bradley put us in (bottom of the league). We got to safety up at Sunderland with 1 or 2 games to spare in his first season. We escaped that season primarily due to Sigurdsson & Llorente.

The following close season the Yanks sold Sigurdsson in the transfer window & Llorente on deadline day. The sale so late on without ready made replacements identified was due to a lack of vision overseen by Levein, Kaplan & Jenkins. Clement would have had very little input in to paying £17m for Clucas or bringing back Bony. He was no doubt behind bringing in Sanches & Abraham from his Chelsea & Bayern links. As weak as Clement may be perceived to be by you he was badly let down by the late sales & poor recruitment overseen by the ownership, Jenkins included

Any talk of play offs is misguided. For once I agree with the coach we are miles off it. We haven’t won more than 2 games in a row & lost every game to the top 7. Anything more than 7 points from the next 4 games would be a surprise to say the least. Thankfully the gap to the bottom 3 is going in the right direction (slowly)

I would imagine Obafemi’s highlight reel on YouTube will be primarily filled with his highlights in a Swans jersey - what a waste - totally down to his own attitude. Many will point at his agent but at the end of the day he needs to look in the mirror for his failures

Working for an oil company out there is very different to being an independent traveller - totally different experiences - been there, done it. Should be ok with a bunch of football fans, just don’t stray off the straight & narrow would be my advice & a good memorable time can be had
