For Stan Bowles patrons its either stand there and ignore it or throw yourself into the half time sex-scrum of people trying to buy warm carlsberg, blow vape smoke up in the air and squeeze their way into the bogs all within 15 minutes, i.e. no chance.
Well done to the 'round the pole'-ers on Saturday though - that is still good fun. Extra points to the woman who fell over - old school comedy gold. |

Damo I love you as an Ulsterman, but that is balls.
Field does what he does very well, solidly, nearly every game. But he's not a 'get it on the turn and progress it' sort of player, he's 'Field the Shield'.
We need a number of other players to take that on. |

Definitely agree on it being one of those days when the lack of Chair was clear.
Not that we should need to rely on him to that extent, but the only one showing for it at throw ins seemed to be Frey, who deserves his recent plaudits for effort let alone goals.
Plenty of other things to work on, like getting Lucas to somehow remember he's actually quite good at football, and getting Varane to be a bit braver. Not to mention Madsen.
We need to get Chair, Saito and Dembele on the pitch at once as a functioning 3 behind Big Michi, and spend the game just giving it to them while not fcuking up elsewhere - it doesn't seem too much more complicated than that, to me at least. |

I understand people talking about Dembele starting, but I thought the half he had last night was a bit of a learning curve for him too.
I saw at least 2 or 3 moves close up where he delayed a bit or thought he'd beaten his man when he hadn't, and lost the ball. Granted EDB's first 4 touches were all total duds but I thought he got better and is worth persevering with.
Which of course goes back to the question of whether this was the game to do that persevering, or during the long league season. I'd go with the latter on that choice last night I must admit. |

And the comments about it being quite an enjoyable night, despite the scoreline.
AND the comments about being fcuked off that Palace are now so far ahead of us - but I don't see throwing Colback at it for 35 mins and 2 yellows as the answer. |

I had my earphones in and at one point heard someone in the background saying something like 'If it goes green that means its disconnected so you have to hold it in' - or words to that effect.
Seemed it was the most literal of connection problems - you couldn't make it up.
The replacement comms-bot did his best, that's about the most positive thing I could say.

I think we need these lulls to be honest - allows for the occasional reset during the long months of angst/outrage/joy/horror/boredom/arousal.
