Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro 21:40 - Jan 16 with 6508 views | tranmere1234 | Hello all, Tranmere fan here, Few rumours going around that both yourselves and Bury are interested in taking Akpro on loan After a very good start with us - looked easily good enough to play at a higher level than league one- he has gone massively off the boil recently and cannot get into the team However that said we are terrible at the moment ourselves and no one looks good in our side currently Anyway best of luck for rest of season
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 21:45 - Jan 16 with 4867 views | SaxonDale | If he had a footballing brain he'd be a great player, as it is he's very much a league 1/2 player. Would definitely take him short term though.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 22:15 - Jan 16 with 4722 views | Swissdale | Wouldn't be that interested in seeing him return, can't really see what he would bring to the team. (Or rather, where he would fit in) Very poor finisher of the ball, would put his foot through the ball far too often instead of a simple side-foot.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 22:51 - Jan 16 with 4594 views | TomRAFC | In his time at dale he had bags of pace and a good work rate. Sadly his finishing left alot to be desired. Did a job for dale in his time here, don't get me wrong, but I am not exactly eager to have him back. [Post edited 16 Jan 2014 23:05]

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 23:09 - Jan 16 with 4535 views | crazyhorse | IMO...Lots of exuberance, enthusiasm and will, but lacks the footballing brain to fit into the current Keith Hill side. He also doesn't have a great goal scoring record.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 01:13 - Jan 17 with 4399 views | sweetcorn | One of my favourite rochdale players and in my opinion was our actual player of the season when we went down from league one. He doesn't have the best of footballing brains, but i'd say he's a better version of donnelly and also offers an outlet in the air, as he's pretty decent there. Would take him until the end of the season for sure.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 05:31 - Jan 17 with 4342 views | JumeirahDale | Would take him as a "Plan B" option (but that begs the question of whether it is worth it) but I don't think he really fits into how we play at the moment. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 08:02 - Jan 17 with 4223 views | Brierls | I'd definitely have JLAA back. He's got pace, effort and ability. Of course there's an element of inconsistency, but he can be a match winner. We've got enough quality in the squad now to compliment JLAA, so if he's not firing he can be replaced. Strength in depth is key going into the second half of the season. He'll probably end up at bury
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 08:30 - Jan 17 with 4165 views | regjenkins | I liked his unpredictability, he does tend to play better in a side doing well. Still recall his goal against Huddersfield just before Cog got the third...what a steal that result was?

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 08:58 - Jan 17 with 4116 views | Daley_Lama | "both yourselves and Bury are interested in taking Akpro on loan" Right now I'd say them next door are probably in more need of a striker than us, given that we are divisional top scorers and they are, erm, frankly rubbish.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 09:59 - Jan 17 with 3984 views | lurker | Honestly can't believe some of the negative comments about JLAA on this thread. He is no worldbeater for sure, but I remember him contributing a lot to our front line in his time here. It was no surprise for me when he had interest from a higher division at the end of his contract after our relegation. He would be ideal as a complement to Scott Hogan up top and would allow us to play a number of formations as an outlet up top with his pace and power. On the flip side, if he were brought in to replace Hogan then he would not be the ideal candidate, no mistake. [Post edited 17 Jan 2014 10:00]

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 10:15 - Jan 17 with 3925 views | D_Alien | As a left-field candidate for an additional frontman going into the final 3/4 months of the season - then I'd say yes! If anyone can get the best out of JLAA it'll be KH - both parties know that and if JLAA wants somewhere to resurrect his career he couldn't do better than come to a promotion-chasing Dale where he's familar with the setup and personnel. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 10:56 - Jan 17 with 3837 views | ParkinsGimp | Never impressed me TBH was amazed he went to Tranmere but seems to have lost his way after a surprising start. Wouldn't have him back.
Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on 11:02 - Jan 17 with 3822 views | Knowlesy | Would definitely have him back. As some have said he's inconsistent but on his day he's fantastic, and there's never a shortage of pace, energy and endeavour. He's miles better than Donnelly and give us a different option up front.

Being better than Donnelly shouldn't be a reason to bring in a player.

Well, if he's better than one of our current crop then surely that's a better option to have? It's not as if we're particularly strapped for cash and wouldn't be tied down to him, it's only a loan deal that's being mentioned. Shall I rephrase? Apologies. Taking away any mention of Donnelly, he still offers pace, energy and endeavour and on his day can be a match winner. I liked him in league one and reckon he'd do a good job as an extra option in the side. Is that better?

It's every reason to bring a player in. Surely you bring players in to improve on your current squad? Akpa Akpro is an improvement on Donnelly so I say if we can and there's no one better out there then bring him back and stick him up with Hogan.

Yeah I would too. But they aren't always available, not easy getting strikers especially at this time of the year, that's why I said if there's no one better.

I think Hill will have higher standards than "Better than Donnelly".

Apologies Gambo, i forgot that you are having a revolution, storming towards the championship and frankly dazzling right now. Or perhaps right now you are rubbish and that is why you are one point from relegation whereas we are one point from promotion. That's what we do over here, live in the present and real world. If you wish to live in the past and fantasy world so be it.
