So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? 10:57 - Jan 13 with 4304 views | STID2017 | Assuming Williams time is short with us, who would you like to see as a replacement ? Personally I would be happy to see a proven manager like Ian Holloway come in. His Blackpool team were one of the most entertaining opposition teams I have seen at the stadium If we are to continue being a mid table team, at least let's start enjoying it

So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? on 20:40 - Jan 13 by Whiterockin | Football can be entertaining without playing the "Swansea way", it's vastly overrated and outdated. Those who live in the past die in the past, times move on. |
I don't disagree....I never bought into it it was more than what we did at the pitch......but that's what our playing got labelled. The issue is when we get a manager our fanbase or certain sections have certain expectations.....amplified on places like this

So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? on 20:22 - Jan 13 by vetchonian | But who in the club would have a clue to appoint? Coleman apparently chose Luke, does he now have enough knowledge of English football to choose a suitable manager. Do the new investors have that insight? Lots of names nanded about on here.....how many of those would play the "Swansea way" how soon before gans start banging on about pragmatic managers whilst getting results playing poor dull football. We are really in a mess a paper thin squad as illustrated yesterday with Christie and Naughton starting at centre back....issues in midfield and up front and now yet again another manager crisis....most if which has been fuelled by the media... So we have a crap squad and a crap.manager....what that "decent" manager would want to come here given our recent history |
'A crisis fuelled by the media' Haven't you read anything that keef and his team have put on here about his balls ups?
So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? on 20:57 - Jan 13 with 1054 views | swancity | I’d like to see Luke stay. We’ve had a decent season all things considered and only 2/3 weeks ago we played some lovely football against an in form QPR. That’s our way of playing. Possession with purpose. Two of the recent performances haven’t been acceptable. Portsmouth was awful and so was Southampton although that game illustrated how stretched our first team squad is. I’m not looking to blame the manager for that. The problems run far deeper. Review things at the end of the season as it looks as though we have enough in the tank to stay clear of the relegation scrap.

his "balls ups" being magnified. by the media..don't start me about this .... Ive read them and formulated my own opinion. i suspect the inital interview which started this was misrepresented. And apparently there is proof he is lieing but cannot be used as otheriwise it will compromise sources so why make the threat in the first place....within 24 hours of this statement "Well, start choosing your words better then Luke, because nobody believes in their right mind you didn’t know what your agents were up to. And if this becomes a constant we will prove it" Williams was again accused of lieing about his agent....an opportunity to call him out and carry out the "threat"...... I could be wrong but where's the proof I've asked before ....but we've gone beyond this....Williams is now a dead man walking ...not helped by reporting in all media....the BIG questions remains who replaces him, have we the confidence there are those in the club with the knowledge to make the right choice? Given our wafer thin squad and likelihood of.losing one if our centre backs at the end of the season and issues over the p and s will we be able to attract the sort of manager who can give us the success the investors and fans want? .

It doesn’t really matter mate. People can choose whatever they want to believe, What does matter now is Hull away, Portsmouth away, Southampton away and now coming up Cardiff away, A manager crisis ? Ask the Chairman and the new investors they may have a different opinion. Luke threw the game away yesterday through a blindness in squad selection that is mystifying. Takes Harry Darling to Southampton in the hope of getting him fit for the game. Why do that and then say he could be out for Cardiff ? It’s very strange. Then takes Vipotnik to Southampton with his Mrs just given birth stating he needs him, then doesn’t play him ! Ignores an U21 player who scores goals and a midfielder in Nzongi who are getting rave reviews. The only calamity apparently was choosing McGloughlin who shouldn’t have been on the pitch or near the squad but is allegedly a superb keeper in training. 🤷🏻♂️ He should have gone with Larry and taken one of the best U21 keepers we have had in years in Evan Watt. Whatever people say about Christie and Naughton , the rest of the team going forwards were first team picks. They couldn’t do anything bar make a completely embarrassing attempt at winning a game of football. Nobody is stating we have a manager crisis, it’s clear over the past few weeks and those three away games there is no spirit or fight in any of them. That’s a crisis, no matter who is in charge.

Not a lot of difference. But it’s an unimportant question because he will never come and work again for a Chairman who was in charge when he left. And Coleman wouldn’t want him.

What about him ? Never managed or coached as far as I know. Does he even have the badges ? Look at several brilliant players ( Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Wayne Rooney) who have failed in management Wood Ashley cut the mustard ? Not sure myself but that is surely from left field

Bloody hell you are right, my mistake. The other one Ben Hughes has gone out on loan as well to Caernarfon. That just leaves Margetson in the U21. I think.

I felt this was a perfectly valid question and whilst lots of ideas are left field or tongue in cheek, it shows we have an intelligent readership on here who are happy to express their views on the subject. Hopefully, assuming Williams goes soon, the board will have a long list of names ready to approach

So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? on 00:15 - Jan 14 with 572 views | majorraglan | Tbh I don’t know who’s available, but I can’t go with the likes of Ash Williams because taking punts on people at this level is mad. Great club servant, but he’s not done a huge amount in management and I’d like someone who’s cut their teeth and proven they can win games. There have been some abject performances and results of late, but Luke Williams has 2 1/2 years left on his deal and I can’t see the club pulling the trigger because it’s going to cost a fortune, it would be cheaper to bring in a mentor or something like that to ask the awkward questions when it goes Pete Tong so LW can learn. Looking at the fixtures, I reckon there’s a result to be had at the CCS, but after that it’s going to be tough. Edit- somebody pointed the finger at LW re the Darling contract issue, I think that’s above his pay grade and sits much higher up the food chain. [Post edited 14 Jan 0:21]

Yep. For the same reason I can't take the calls for Osian Roberts seriously. He's done nothing in management to warrant being handed the reins of a Championship club either. We need someone with at least five years of experience behind him at the higher levels of a league. Preferably one of the stronger European ones. Appoint another rookie and we're probably going to end up in the same situation.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

So Who Would You Like To See In Charge ? on 08:31 - Jan 14 with 309 views | AnotherJohn | Keith made the interesting remark that: "The only calamity apparently was choosing McGloughlin (sic) who shouldn’t have been on the pitch or near the squad but is allegedly a superb keeper in training." I'd imagine the last bit may be true. McLaughlin's nightmare performance was to do with positioning on one through ball and distribution rather than shot stopping. He actually made a few tidy saves. I wondered if his problem was the step up from training to real games, where there is a more intense press and unfamiliar attackers. We don't really have any second-string games in which he will have played.
