Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

They do look poor and I’d be worried but any team down there getting two points per game from now (none of them will) is staying up with games to spare.

That would give them 54 points. We say the magic figure is 50 right? And their GD is awful.

Lets say Hull, Cardiff and Stoke win their game in hand - That's a 5 point gap straight off the bat and as mentioned with the GD equivalent to 6 points.

I standby my belief, they are not gonna get above 45 points and will be down

Kemar Roofe rocking up at Derby could make a difference. I know a few mentioned him on here when we had next to no strikers.

You might well be right that they'll go down but they don't need anything like two points a game to stay up. They need to make up one point on Plymouth, two on Derby and three on Hull. Those three teams can't all win their games in hand as Hull and Cardiff's game is against each other (Stoke play Boro). Luton can easily get out of it with a couple of wins.

Could he be the new Colin Kazim-Richards?

Hasn't played since leaving Rangers at the end of last season, when he scored one goal in 15 league appearances. I don't think opposition defenders are exactly going to be quaking in their boots.

Luton, Derby, Hull, Cardiff, Stoke. Any of those would do, three of them would be lovely.

Isn't it nice to be observing the relegation scrap from the comfort of our mid-table armchair!

Plymouth have given themselves a hell of a chance.
I think Derby and Luton look rotten, Cardiff seem to just about be able to do enough whilst Hull are 50/50.
Think we could see Stoke (finally) drop

Yep and you too could be spot on...

But they have not won in 13 so not envisaging it.

One thing you DEFINITLY have right, its lovely watching rather than being involved

Trouble is, it’s so ingrained now I just help looking over our shoulder and worrying what if a couple of them string a few results together!

Derby signing Kemar Roofe on a free is interesting. He is a great footballer and goal scorer but his injury record is horrendous. It's an interesting gamble.

Never knowingly right.

I fancy Eustace’s chances of getting them out of it just about but Roofe hasn’t played for the best part of a year and did very little in a pub league for two years before that. Fair enough it’s low risk and probably not big money but I’d be really surprised if he contributes much. Perhaps the thinking is it’ll take a while to get up to speed but it’s worth it if he can bang a couple in in the final month.

Maybe he's on a (drum roll, please) "pay as you play deal"?

And of course we can deride him to our hearts' delight safe in the knowledge he won't be scoring against us.

Or maybe Eustace is sucked in by the old chestnut 'He could do a job'
