I think many players like to keep the original number that they were given or in the case of Varane like to choose their own. I wonder if 1=11 means anything to the younger players these days.

Doesnāt mean anything really, I seem to remember they announced the squad numbers on the morning of the Watford game last season.
I think the club just donāt see it as important at all, and letās be honest as kit customisation probably makes them about Ā£5k a season I can understand why

Don't judge me, but I have kept a record of the squad numbers for the last few years. Jimmy Dunne signed in July 2021 and was given the number 20 shirt. The following season he was given number 3 and has kept that number.
"Remember to listen to me but look at her. Don't get it the wrong way round. That would be hideous."

Thanks! That was a really good watch. Jimmy comes across really well and every time I see or hear Andy Sinton I think how lucky we are to have him. A surprising, touching end to the programme, too. Bring on West Brom and Come on you Rs!
