On the surface of it that is a cracking statement

Whilst i've expressed 'reservations' about our current leadership off and on the pitch, i can fully support this statement for the following reason: it's coming from a level of expertise, professionalism and indeed, creativity that i never imagined would become involved in Dale

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

This won't suit everyone, but essentially, the board and manager should now have a "prove it" year with the benefit of additional resources. If things don't improve and we don't progress, then I would hope appropriate actions would be taken by our new owners, but it's way too premature for such discussions at this juncture. All in all, from where we were, this is about as much as we could ever have hoped for in our collective wildest dreams after the stark EGM and where we stood after it.

Up the Dale - deffo no longer for sale!

Like the sound of this, a sensible & well thought out statement IMO.
In terms of the proposed training facility I hope the new owners seriously consider TBA, it would be a task to clear up the mess but the size of plot is more than capable of accommodating a first class set up. If the site can be purchased for a reasonable price, we can get the council, MP & all potential stakeholders on board then a bid for Govt grant/levelling up cash must be worth a serious effort.

Fantastic news. Fantastic statement.

From the off, it gives confidence in the long term future of the club. Expectations have been set re budget and board room.

Quite possibly the best possible end to a season!

A genuine heartfelt thank you to EVERYBODY involved.

it will take a heck of more than a year to 'prove' anything to anyone. we are beginning a new era, and even Fergy needed 5 years before he won anything. its clear that continuity and sustainability are the number one factors in this 'takeover'. success will first be measured on the sustainabilty of the club off the pitch, not team success on it. look at how long it took N0. C0. and Wrexham to return to the league.
PS isn't it about time respect was shown S &R.

An excellent statement that identifies what needs to improve and initial routes to achieving this. The golden share which helps to safeguard the ground is a standout feature.

We’ve gone from fearing what losing control to outside investors would mean to some certainty should the deal progress as we all hope.

A really inspiring statement incorporating a lot of the things we’ve mentioned on here in the past.
I mentioned in a recent match thread that I may be procrastinating about buying a new season ticket but if they were on sale now I’d buy one!
Let’s get really behind the spirit of this - for example, if everyone who was holding a family party eg 21st, silver wedding held it in the Ratcliffe there’d be a lot more money going into the club coffers.

I have read the statement twice and it only gets better....off- pitch sustainability would be a fantastic goal to achieve, and with a full time business development specialist to drive it, far more than the lip service we have managed so far.

A new facility for training , academy and community use in Rochdale is a real challenge to the the Council.. back us...! we need to start a campaign writing to local councillors to support the idea before the May elections...

They also recognise that a serious shot at getting to at least the play-offs is on the agenda, a couple of decent strikers would help bring that to fruition.

Safe to say I am thrilled by this statement. Next season is my 64th and I admit there have been times when I thought we might not get another go, so my gratitude to the Ogden family is deeply felt, "aude et praevalebis".......( if you know, you know.)

Well said.

Its a second chance that i did not think would be possible. We were VERY close to not seeing out this season.

Its up to everybody now involved at the club and all the supporters to come together like never before to ensure we only move forward and go from strength to strength.

Up the Dale.... When are the season cards on sale????

I remember not so long back on Twitter/X we had a supporter who quite alarmingly proclaimed that he wanted the club to go to the wall as it was “toxic”, or words to that effect. Unfortunately his account now seems to be ‘protected’ so I can’t dig out said comment. He also had some weird obsession over which end we attack towards in the second half of games.

Thank the lord the trust and the board didn’t have the same mindset as that oddball.

Thank feck for that, a brilliant solid announcement, we've reached the light, great news , an update that puts us on a path for growth. The Ogdens provide the potential and club management can hopefully build something that benefits the town, improves the facilities and hopefully gives the fans something to cheer on Saturday. Under the guidance of experienced business owners.

I'm extra glad for those who've stuck by the club and gave their time working for free, throughout these turbulent years.

Behind the scenes its great, but I really do hope though the same enthusiasm and ambitions rubs off on the players and coach. This patient play stuff is dire, especially when we are chasing games or the style is not working. I'm not bothered when 2 nil up. But patient play with sometimes lacklustre players, when losing, it becomes an 11 on on the frustration scale.

hope we can improve the product on the pitch, and we have players and coach that are along for the ride.

I don't post much on here. Mainly because there are people who are more knowledgeable are much more and are more present at the club than I can be. But I wanted to give my thoughts.

On the face of it this is everything we have been looking for. A chance to rebuild the club, to the level that was lauded in the media as an example of how to things only five or six years ago. Investment in the infrastructure and environment should certainly make us a more attractive prospect to better players and increase corporate revenues. This will hopefully see the end of the downward trend of the club.

I think its right that people are given a clean slate for next season. Gives the new ownership time to see everybody in action and remove anybody that's holding us back.

On main thing we are all interested in. We don't know yet, especially on the footballing side. Have we overachieved this season because of the turmoil behind the scenes? Now that we will have a more competitive budget so the pressure will be on to prove that we have the right people leading the club.

No doubting the managers passion for the role. He has spoken well this season in some very testing circumstances. Whist not seeing every game. I think he has done well. Whilst there have been a lot of frustrations at our ability to have more conviction on the ball at times. We have shown, when we have had our strongest players available. We can compete with the better teams in the league and the metrics have backed this up. Lack of squad depth has been a killer this season.

Having said all that. This will now be his chance to show that he has the ability to take us to the next level and not just a cheerleader/club yes man in charge of the team.

Cleaning that site up would bankrupt even the Ogdens. Don't think we will ever see anything being built on that land

Good to read this, it’s notable that it’s a statement from The Ogden family and that the tone is markedly much more in tune with what fans are looking for. Shows promising signs, and the content all sounds spot on.

Will be interesting to see what changes are made on the board, accepting what they say about continuity a very great deal of change in approach is required on and off the pitch.

Looking forward with more optimism than for a long time.

Well after everything that has happened over the last 4 years this is finally an amazing conclusion and we can all look forward to an exciting new era.

With the creation of a golden share the future of the club is totally secure from the likes of Morton house.

The clubs short term financial worries are now covered and we have investment from an organisation with the expertise to invest and grow the club.

They have committed to additional investment for training facilities which not only benefit the club but the whole time.

We could only dream of this out come. Congratulations and thank you to all those whose hard work made this possible.

Oh, I remember and will quite frankly never forget.

Not sure how you’d achieve anything in life with that outlook. Thank god the rest of us have stuck in there and fought too the end.

Agree with that. We should look at Firgrove, it’s already the towns public footballing venue. Rebuild the changing rooms with kitchen, dining area, physio room and briefing room, and whatever else is needed. Sort a couple of pitches out and get an AstroTurf down. Surely that would be more feasible and cost effective than finding a brand new site.

It's a bit of a miracle this isn't it? Six months ago the club was staring down the barrel of a gun in the last chance saloon and look what's happened now. The statement from the Ogdens eclipses our promotions to L1 when it comes to emotions and importance, its massive. The Golden Share mentioned in that statement is like winning the world cup, what a fantastic gesture from the family. We could never of dreamed the golden share would become a reality.

Promotions will be won today but the biggest victory of all is ours and it brings to a end the near three years of struggle to save the club. It's been a nightmare for all concerned but the end result is definitely worth it. The book is waiting to be written and it will be a best seller, the author of the book could possibly be the most influential character when it comes to how the Club was finally saved. Thanks to all involved during this saga, especially our two Trust Chairman. Time to go fishing and watch some cricket. Looking forward to next season now👍

What has been achieved here is beyond my wildest dreams.
A few weeks ago when SG made the Liquidation Announcement my heart sank to a depth that was unknown.
I geninely felt that after the years & years of watching us struggle this was the end of the club.
And then up popped the Ogdens like a Knight in shining armour to offer a lifeline to us.
I cannot thank everyone ,that has been involved in getting this deal to this point, Enough Epecially the Trust.

The statement is wonderful reading. I cannot help feeling that we have won footballs version of The Apprentice.
Instead of Lord Sugar and his experts guiding and investing in a business we have Sir Peter Ogden.
Hopefully good times are to follow and this project must be supported by as many people as possible.

Enjoy the summer. You’ve taken some unbelievable grief on here for your beliefs and this is the best outcome you could probably have hoped for.

Hopefully we can all just concentrate on the on field matters next season without the added worry of off pitch shenanigans.
