T'2024 India Tour 12:53 - Jan 22 with 7522 views | D_Alien | The first test gets underway on Thursday, but as things crank into gear the emphasis seems very much on things being cranky https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/68054608 Stokes looks to be fit after his knee surgery but still not fit to bowl Brooks has returned home for personal reasons (may rejojn the squad later) Visa issues preventing the full squad from assembling Meanwhile. Kohli also missing the start of the series for personal reasons India haven't lost at home since we beat them in 2012, and we've been thrashed there on both subsequent tours. No idea how things will pan out

T'2024 India Tour on 19:49 - Feb 1 with 1796 views | isitme | It will be interesting what India do to replace Rahul and Jajeda who are two key players. Jimmy you have two overs with the new ball to get some wickets! I'm not sure what shock factor he will bring but maybe able to tie up an end with the older ball.

Apparently, at 41 he's fitter than he's been for a while: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/james-anderson-recalled-for-second-test-with-

3 Wickets and economy rate below 2. Decent 1st innings score, odd in that 1 player gets over 200 and no-one else gets to 40. Does it means it is a good pitch but 10 players played poorly, or is it a tricky pitch but 1 player had an unbelievable innings? Hopefully the former. Need to at least equal their score which with our run rate that could be early tomorrow. 100 lead would be ideal. They say day 3 may be the best for batting on the commentary I was listening to.
T'2024 India Tour on 11:53 - Feb 4 with 1457 views | D_Alien | Surely we can't do it again? For the highest ever run chase in India? All depends on how the wicket behaves, but we've been achieving run chases in the high 300s since Stokes/McCullum took over 67-1, needing another 332

T'2024 India Tour on 12:31 - Feb 4 with 1418 views | isitme | Excellent test by Jimmy. Kept it tight and chipped in with key wickets. I wonder if he can get 700 test wickets by the end of the tour? A decent start but a long chase. Someone needs to score big and we need to get the bulk of the runs tomorrow.

We'd only need to score at 3.7 an over to achieve that in 90 overs, which would be pedestrian by our current standards Mention also for Foakes, whose keeping has been crucial in chipping away and keeping the chase below 400

Three top class spinners on their home turf was always going to be a battle. Fair play to Bashir, Hartley and Ahmed who gave it a good go. Whilst stating the obvious Bairstow and Stokes did not contribute enough runs. Looking forward I suspect Brook will come back in for Bairstow and then we need to rebuild the seam attack. Home tests againts the West Indies and Sri Lanka are the ideal opportunity to do so. After a promising start Robinson does not look up to the demands physically. Potts had a good A tour to India and Atkinson is reasonably quick. Hopefully a few others will step up early in the domestic season. I am not sure what we have to gain from playing Woakes and Wood will not play all six tests. Jimmy could potentially retire after the Old Trafford test as the second highest wicket taker in test cricket.
