Contracted For Next Season.. on 13:34 - May 6 by RooleyMoorBlue | It's frightening to think that a lot of posters want to keep hold of a soon to be 39 y/o striker whose legs have gone and an attacking midfielder who assists a couple of goals every 100 games. We need to get rid of the chaff(no offence) and as the wheat consists of Brierley and Lloyd, try to get Brierley back on loan after his sale and offer Lloyd a decent contract. He deserves it more than anyone. We are stuck with the contracted players, do once a new manager has decided, he can get rid either on loan, small fee or free. What we need most is a midfield engine a la Gary Jones. A player who wears his heart on his sleeve and would run through a brick wall for the cause. Actually we need another 10 like that. |
Im of a similar thought. The chances of Lloyd hanging around are zero..he needs to move on whilst his street value is high..a below average season in the NL would be a disaster for him..and thats what we are heading for at best. Brierley again needs to be away and playing elsewhere at a higher level week in week out. Hendo is done his time is over.

I’d be interested to see the stats on distance covered re Hendo and compare to others in the squad. Hendo was still the best (and smartest) player we had at defending from the front. He bagged 8 goals and was central to any of our decent performances this season. Admittedly he’s not got pace, but his game was never based on pace. It was based on his football brain and he’s still got that. Having a 39 year old striker who sets a perfect example to others in the squad isn’t the worst idea heading into the unknown of the National League. I hope he stays for one more season.
Contracted For Next Season.. on 17:40 - May 6 with 1996 views | EllDale | Has anyone wondered if he actually wants to carry on playing? He might be feeling the aches and pains a lot more these days. And he’s completed the unfinished business of breaking scoring records. Might it be time to concentrate on Herbalife etc?

Contracted For Next Season.. on 19:47 - Apr 30 by jonahwhereru | Don’t think either of them will get better offers elsewhere, so financially it makes sense for both of them as individuals not to move on. Although Ball may have had a gut full of the club, so with luck he might ask for a move. |
Think that would be a fair summary of the situation.
