Those new shirts 10:36 - Aug 14 with 4604 views | Chesham_Saint | Aside from the design being utter shit, did anyone else have a problem differentiating our players’ shirts from Leeds’ yesterday (both teams wearing dark shorts too). To make it even less palatable, from the back we looked like England, or worse, the NLYs..!

Those new shirts on 12:43 - Aug 15 with 1297 views | 1885_SFC | Why can't the kit manufacturer's put out 3 or 4 designs in the Spring & let the fans choose? Hardly rocket science. Of course there would be disagreements and debate - but at least we'd get a say on whether a kit is gopping or great.

Didn’t the try that once but the skates all piled in to vote for the absolute worst - a diagonal red triangle abhorrence if I remember correctly? But, you’re essentially right, let the supporters vote - but only members or season ticket holders to keep out the fishy few.

Those new shirts on 14:28 - Aug 15 with 1240 views | Sadoldgit | Leeds home kit as we know is white. In their infinite wisdom they have gone with a pale yellow as an away shirt which, as we know, isn’t too different from white. So you’d think that, against us, they would wear their third kit. No sign of a third kit on the internet though and a release date for sale to fans is 22nd September! And we thought we were crap at kit selections and launches?
Those new shirts on 14:58 - Aug 15 with 1228 views | Saintsforeverj | Again, it's all about trying to force the fans into buying a new shirt. If they had red and white again (which is what it should be, that's what we are), the fans could just wear last year's shirt. They know this, so change it completely. It will probably go back to red and white next season, so people have to change their shirt again. They don't care that we look like Leeds. A few more pounds have come in. Keep it red and white like last year, and then most people just wear last year's shirt, it's about money for them as is everything. [Post edited 15 Aug 2022 15:03]

You say that but look at the sides who sell the most shirts Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs, there core colour design never changes, they just make subtle changes such as collars etc and they still sell shed loads . Even smaller clubs, Leicester haven't had anything but the basic blue but they have more in their ground than ours. The people who run those clubs shirt design know it is about tradition and being creative without ruining that tradition, those at our club can't see that and think it is some sort of fashion show you have to change to a new design each season

Those new shirts on 15:50 - Aug 15 with 1205 views | 1885_SFC | It is anticipated that new legislation will prevent clubs from advertising gambling companies on the front of their shirts. In Saints' case, looks like we'll be looking for a new sponsor sooner rather than later.

Those new shirts on 16:03 - Aug 15 with 1197 views | ericofarabia | It isn't so much a case of not liking any of the kits very much with me, I actually loathe all of them â˜¹ï¸ Flicking through the channels to find our match I went straight past it twice as we were attacking and I presumes it was Spurs, Fulham or Luton due to the lack of any Red. The only good thing I can say is that at least it does resemble a football shirt unlike the other 2 🙄. None of them have a hint of inspiration to previous shirts or tradition, and as Nick pointed out, the PR trying to make out that they reflect our connections with the docks and sea or The Raf and aviation is just an absolute joke. I actually feel disconnected from the team, its like watching a game not involving us. â˜¹ï¸ Presume home kit at Leicester .... come on reds er whites er forget it.

The coolest sponsors (IMHO) were Norwich's last season with Lotus cars. Surely we could have a more local focused sponsor? Cunard would be cool... or one of the other large cruise lines like P&O or Carnival? Ordnance Survey? Southampton Docks Ltd? B&Q/Kingfisher? Southampton Airport?

WALOB. Comparing us to the big clubs is ludicrous. They sell shirts because they are big clubs not due to the design. Liverpool could have a home shirt of blue with pink polka dots and would still sell millions in the Far East. If the club justifiably wants to maximise revenue from replica shits then it makes perfect sense to alternate between a deckchair shirt and them some form of red/white design (because as we all know, Saints are red and white, but as our kit history vividly shows, not always in striped form.) That way there is some differentiation in design which will mean fans will buy them. We don't have millions of worldwide fans who will buy a home shirt each season no matter what and if we give the fans a striped shirt, pretty much identical to the previous one, every single year it will only be a hardcore few who will continue to buy them. Alternating between striped and non striped every year seems to be the perfect compromise.

Don’t forget Semmens couldn’t give 2 shites about the local area or fanbase, it would make more sense to him and the other corporate smarm brigade to have some online bitcoin betting firm, its the floating global brand fans who are important really.

You are basing Semmens on one botched fans forum, how do you know what he gives two shites about, if a local company were willing to pay as much as an online betting firm he would snatch their arms off, but then again it isn't his job to sign up the sponsorship, he has a head of marketing to do that. Why would Cunard sponsor us, they have about three massive adverts for their services parked up in the docks most weeks

The mask slipped in that conference, and someone else connected on here has already said the board has no real interest in the local fans, area or community. Sharp suited bullshitting businessmen have been taking away the football clubs from the communities for a long time now in the premier league, it’s nothing new. This particular small time bullshitter has now made it plain. F*ck the sponsorship it’s a minor issue. [Post edited 15 Aug 2022 21:47]

So someone on a message board has said a man he has never met has no interest in the local business community ? You are right sharp suited businessmen have been taking away from football clubs for years, but Semmens is a paid employee, he is overseen by the owners, how is he going to take away from this football club and its community

He oversees most departments, as a CEO you have a big say in direction and strategy.. What do you think he gets paid a fortune to have no input or make decisions?

Perhaps he has hanged himself in a fit of depression after the fans forum? Alternatively perhaps he was off trying to buy us another player?
