I am sure the cynics will have no issues pointing out that 33 year old who wasn't actually driving and suffers 15 month long injury is sacked while two up and coming players with reasonable resale value who were uninjured and actually the ones who were drink driving were given a six week fine as a slap on the wrist.
Can only imagine that insurers refused to cover his wages, Derby offered him reduced salary which he of course turned down so they sacked him to save on his £25k a week wages knowing that there was a very real possibility he would have to retire after an injury that serious which he wouldn't recover from until he was 35.
Can definitely see this going to a tribunal and I cannot see how Derby can win. |  | | |

I’m not a legal eagle by any stretch of the imagination but surely he’s got a good case for discrimination based on age considering the other two actually committed the offence and got a far more lenient disciplinary? |  |

The other two weren't injured so no claim had to be made.
I'm not sticking up for Derby here as i think they're a bunch of rotten cheats, but they certainly haven't fvcked up by offering reduced wages as i doubt very much whether any insurance policy would cover 100% of wages for the full length of long term injuries, so Derby would be liable to meet part payment anyway.
Personally, i think Keogh's got a bit of a battle on his hands. [Post edited 31 Oct 2019 13:16]

Not to mention that Keogh has over 300 games at Derby, and these two are young and haven't achieved anything. Also, they will not be disciplined by the club. Nothing happened initially, and nothing will happen in the future. Remember, one of them started the following week, and the other was on the bench. I will be very surprised if Derby ban them in the future.
