Yeh and thanks All a bit strange and a shock, no real indication before maybe masked by other ailments. I have a few. Pain, Not what you would consider being a HA no chest pain, no angina, normal BP 98% sats, no real warning of anything else till the neck and jaw pain. [Post edited 2 Mar 2019 14:14]

Anyone had Heart surgery on 11:24 - Mar 2 with 6121 views | Hooparoo | Yes, very recent experience. Had a heart valve replaced just 6 weeks ago. Had a leaky valve my whole life, even ran 8 marathons but never knew. Got much worse 6 months ago but now I’ve had it replaced I feel great. Trust your surgeon mate, they can do wonderful things now so get it fixed and you can get on with your life. All the best mate, hope it goes well.

Open heart surgery. I’m lucky that I live in Brisbane as the 4 best cardiac hospitals in the country are all here. My surgeon has done more valve replacements than any other surgeon currently operating in Australia. You’ll be ok mate. Have faith. Faith is the opposite of fear. Good luck.

Anyone had Heart surgery on 12:19 - Mar 2 with 5988 views | BerkoRanger | YES. Back in the 90s I had two heart attacks. Urgent tests revealed I had an aortic root aneurysm when they rushed me into Harefield Hospital. It turned out it was the largest aneurysm (8.5cm) they had ever seen on someone still living! Sir Magdi Yacoub, the famous heart specialist, performed my heart surgery in a 9 hour operation and managed to save my heart valve so I didn't need a transplant.(And ALL on the NHS!) I still get checked out yearly in Harefield's outpatients, where there is a statue of Sir Magdi - it always brings a tear to my eye when I see it. I'm telling you this to encourage you as I am still here and fairly fit at 67 years of age (with a new Grandchild) so there can be long life after heart surgery. Show your heart surgeon this if you wish. One thing I have to be careful of though - too much stress. So why am I still supporting QPR??????? LOL Wishing you all the very best for the future, mate.
Anyone had Heart surgery on 12:26 - Mar 2 with 5968 views | Discodroids | Sorry to hear that mate. I wish you a speedy and more importantly, a full recovery. I'm stunned given the bestial manner in which i abused my body as a brassneck chalkstripe ponce in the city square mile in the 90's and first half of the noughties, that i'm still in relatively good health. We are so fragile . look after yourself me old mucker. Glenn. [Post edited 2 Mar 2019 12:30]

Friend of mine given less than a year recently, didn't even realise he was ill, only just turned 50, couple of young kids. Life can be tough. Try to keep positive where possible, don't let the buggers get you down.

Thanks for that Berko. I still have a lot of questions that need clearing up when I see the surgeon I've been allocated Clearly doing nothing is likely to result in another HA and not with any good outcome I asked to come home and not amitted as it would have been a 3/4 week or longer wait for surgery anyway. Pissed off with my GP, well really her staff, can't get an appointment until April Fecking gatekeepers who only care about admin. Stress you say!!!!
