A number of the Northolt contingent were on the march. All very peaceful by all accounts. Amazed the mainstream media haven’t reported on it at all. Bet your life the BBC et al would have been all over it if there had been a big kick off...

why is it football lads alliance, are female supporters excluded?

also isnt it basically a given that we are all against terrorism or was the march against something else.

Looking at the video you can see women and children and old boys in their forces uniforms.

Silly oiks should've stayed at home. It's quite obvious that terrorism is part and parcel of living in a modern city these days.

Each to their own of course, but I kind of assume that, all bar the actual terrorists, we all agree terrorism is bad?

You never know, it may have got through to them though. Worth a shot.

Shame several of the people involved in organising it are EDL/BNP alumni, using football as a smokescreen for mobilising racism.

If anything i would have thought they are making football more of a target for terrorism.
15000 hard blokes are not going to stop terrorism unfortunately. As much as id love them to.

I don't think anyone expects anything to change but better than just sneering and doing nothing though

Not really, as it ties up police who are already being forced to work ridiculous, unsafe hours and having leave/days off cancelled for weeks on end because of the terrorist threat and cuts. They don't need to be called in, yet again, on a Saturday, on top of everything else, for this.

What's it trying to achieve? Everybody apart from the extremists is against extremism, what does marching against it actually do? I'm geneuinely curious about this. It's like having a march in favour of Dairy Milk, or warm days, or cold beer - it's like the No Sht Sherlock March.

I actually thought that piece smacked of a journalist sent to cover a potential flashpoint which didn't happen, left scrabbling around looking for minor incidents to trump up.

As with all these type of things the intentions are good and they do make some very good points about the lack of action by the government but already the likes of Tommy Robinson and others from the far right are trying to get involved and will no doubt turn what should be seen as a positive into another EDL type thing

I've never been on a march in my life, but I wanted to go yesterday as it's what it says on the tin. Football Lads Alliance. If it was rugby fans instead of football fans, I wouldn't have gone.

If it can help curb extremism just 0.0001%, it would be worth it. I don't profess to know what goes on behind the wall of government, but something more needs to be done.

It was a very peaceful march. If it wasn't, the media would've been all over it like a rash. Hence the media blackout.

I actually saw Tommy Robinson on the march. He was there with a microphone for the benefit of his YouTube channel. I was told that he was told in no uncertain terms that he wasn't welcome on the march. At the end of the day, it's a free country and he turned up regardless.

Where does it go from here? Who knows.

Since those bastards at Kraft got hold of Cadbury's I might have to organise a march for Dairy Milk.

Tommy Robinson is involved in organising this. It's a front group for the remnants of the EDL / NWI etc in the same way that Unite Against Fascism was a front for SWP.

Edit: Socialist Workers Party, not Shaun Wight Philips, obviously!
